Here is the thing

If you want light 24/7, you have to pay the kind of bills that would help Nigeria afford light 24/7.

Back when NEPA was around, Nigerians and their government agencies owed NEPA money, stole power , vandalised power lines and cables, and still turned around and expected light 24//7.

Today that we have discos...the same thing is happening. Add the fact that the laws put in place to establish the DISCOS in essence allow the government to set the prices the DISCOS charge. Meaning DISCOS don;t have enough money to pay GENCOS, and to raise funding for the government

And the government and the people meanwhile are not paying their bills.

And in the meantime, we waste billions on BigBrother, gambling, looting, Parties, etc. But we refuse to pay a living bill to our DISCOS...and we expect DISCOS to give us light...on what money??

Time we faced the truth. You cannot get N300000000000 service on just N3000. Allow DISCOS to set their prices, which in turn will bring in more investment, and eventually better power supply. Pay your bills on time....because most Nigerians don;t pay up, and are making things diffiuclt for those of us who actually pay our bills.

It is Nigeria's trademark.

Next time no one will tell them to not depend on NEPA for electricity.

1.Jonanthan sold the thing by regions (AEDC can only operate in six states for example, BEDC in a few states.).

2.Where Jonathan erred was that in trying to be nice to Nigerians he instituted price controls for the power sector. The law governing DISCOS allows the government to set their price.

Add the fact that many people don't pay for power...and that includes government agencies....which means that DISCO incomes are very very low. Which makes them reject power by GENCOS.

If government tried to bring in rpice controls for your business, you would be angry. Yet....we allow price controls, which doesn't make economic sense...to take effect in the power sector because politics (APC has refused to remove the price controls, because poltics).

You ain't a true Nigerian if you're flabbergasted.

Why would the organizers use Nepa light in the first place? Serious organizations doing serious things don't use nepa whether there is light or not.

I believe the generator supplying the power broke down suddenly. They can't tell me they were relying on nepa, that would be a stupid thing to do.
