I don't think it's true.

Any online transaction must require an OTP which will be sent to your number registered with the account, without the OTP the transaction will be unsuccessful.

Naaaa

You are wrong, countless online transactions don't need OTP.

what did you do about it and how did it happen

I've contacted the bank from where I understand the man exchanged my ATM with a fake one and used my own to withdrew all my money. I was able to get his pictures from the bank but the pictures are not clear enough, and also I didn't any other information apart from the picture

I use it to generate virtual credit cards. Great for paying Facebook

I just checked Aliexpress and couldn't find a store for virtual card. Could you please post link to the store?

He is correct. Not all portals are properly secured. Some sales portals do not require otp. You can be sure fraudsters have a list of such portals.

I have had that surprising experience when making purchases.

As a matter of fact, PayPal, Google play, Microsoft store do not require any form of authentication when you set up your atm card with them.

And once it is set the only confirmation required is from you, not your banking provider. Ie I can be asked for my password or pin, but not my otp

The only difference is that the moment you make a purchase of over 100k on PayPal, yiu will have to confirm your account

There was one time when I seemed to be wracking strange purchases from Microsoft Windows store and I changed my pin. Though it is possible in hindsight that it is just a weird glitch in their system. The notifications for purchases are delayed sometimes for up to 48 hours.

It is a problem because my children can actually make purchases on my Microsoft store account on their pcs.
