I just came accross it today and truly, it split me up . What kind of world would honestly persuade an individual so unquestioningly that an extraordinary power will spare them when they contravene laws and intentionally endanger themselves? Or, do we conclude that it is the individual's lack of capacity for critical thought?

Anyways, I don't want to journey too far down the rabbit hole. I just want to know if this counts as evidence for absence

For them it is proof that Jesus was correct in saying the world will persecute them for preaching the gospel. Never mind that he could more effectively preached his gospel with a demonstration of the power of his god.

The guy was charged on his beliefs like a man charged on marijuana. He kept on moving despite the arrows shot at him probably because he believed god had his back in the mission of winning souls, he had committed things into the hands of god, and he had to demonstrate faith by continously approaching the hostile tribe. Once a christian is filled with faith, any draw back is seen as a test from the devil. The more you discourage them, the more they tenaciously hold on.

I agree with you that unintelligence and stupidity play a key role in yielding to and maintaining stupid beliefs. How else do children who believe in Santa Claus grow into adults who do not believe in Santa Claus? Funny enough, these children still end continue believing that their god is real. What I was just saying is that even though we smart folks see religion for what it is, we were once indistinguishable from the shadeyinkas and jesusjnrs of these world in our stupidity.

However, we know that one is indeed stupid and not just indoctrinated when one is presented with facts and sound arguments and yet continue to embrace stupid beliefs even though one has come of age. I agree with you.

For example, Olaadegbu is dumb not because of Intuition getting in the way of his intelligence but because his brains can't assimilate things, that's why he has a warped understanding of his holy book.
