Stop Praying Start Protesting by samdigo90: 6:54pm On Oct 18, 2019
Let me start by saying that Sweden, Norway, and other Scandinavian countries are atheist countries. They don't even believe in God, yet they are prosperous, happy, and have high life expectancy. The people from these countries, don't have "Men of God" that lay hands on them, or prophesy on them, or collect tithes from them, or binds generational curses that are tormenting them. Scandinavian countries don't expect miracles to happen, or wait for God to fix their countries etc.

Nigeria has a religion problem. All our politicians are strong Christians or strong Muslims, yet our country is a shit hole. when is comes to stealing money, religion seems to all of a sudden vanish. 99 percent of the problems facing Nigerians are not spiritual problem but rather physical. The reason you haven't gotten a job since graduation, has nothing to do with somebody tying down your destiny in the village. it has everything to do with the fact that your elected leaders are irresponsible, unimaginative, and are not doing what it takes to improve the socioeconomic conditions of the country. Prayer will NOT save Nigeria but rather action.

Lets not forget that after the children of Israel prayed for liberation from Egypt, God sent Moses to Pharaoh( the political figure head) to "let his people go." Freedom comes through Government and not mere prayers. Even after pharaoh granted them freedom, They had to WALK to the Canaan land. God could have "miraculously" transported them to Canaan. He could have sent chariots of fire to pick them up and take them to Canaan. But he didn't. They Walked. Nigerians depend on miracle too much, and are now unwilling to WALK. There will be no miraculous job if you don't fill out job applications. There will be no miraculous car if you are unwilling to work hard and save money to buy a car.

I know of a man in the 90s that always sang in church "i am a millionaire, i am a millionaire in Jesus name" That man is dead now. He never became a millionaire. Or maybe he became a millionaire "spiritually". But in this reality that we live in, he amounted to nothing. Lets not forget that we have been praying for Nigeria 60 years since independence. The situation has deteriorated in many cases. We are still praying however and waiting on God to deliver us. If we pray for another 60 years, Nigeria will not change. One could argue that Prayer and church are in many ways detrimental to Nigeria. Rather than channeling our anger and frustration to the rightful authorities, we get pacified in the churches, and are given false hope of a better tomorrow or a better afterlife in heaven.

Martin Luther King was also a pastor. But rather than collecting tithes, laying hands on the sick, and doing "miracles" he preached to black people that were oppressed in America. He then followed it up with a "direct action" campaign where black people went out and marched, and demanded that the laws be changed to make life better for African Americans. Today you want to get Visa to go to to America without understanding that if Martin Luther King didn't protest 40-50 years ago, your dream of going to america would not even be possible. The Greatest miracle i believe is political change. not that nonsense TB Joshua does.

All prophets in the Bible came and challenged the political power that existed at the time. David challenged Saul, Jesus challenged Herod, Pilate, and the Romans, Elijah challenged Jezebel, Moses challenged Pharaoh. Go and read your bible very well. you will see that the prophet is supposed to challenge the oppressive political institutions that exist in the land and make conditions here on earth a little similar to conditions in heaven. Thus the lords prayer says "Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven".

If you have a pastor that isn't politically active, that doesn't lead marches, but is in bed with corrupt politicians, that gives up his alter(Oyedepo) for corrupt politicians to speak and campaign. if you have a pastor that tells you to pray instead of fight, that tells you to wait for God instead of getting what is yours now, That tells you to pay your tithes and not question where the money is going, then you are a FOOL. What that pastor is in essence telling you is that you don't deserve electricity, good schools, good roads, hospitals, employment etc.

Over 4 years ago, Oyedepo prayed on stage and cursed Boko haram (Video is on youtube)). its 2019 and did his cursing stop Boko haram? did they mysteriously die in sambisa forrest? Be real with yourself, the prayers you have been praying for Nigeria, has it worked? if your answer is No then i suggest you change tactics. The people holding the destiny of Nigeria are the president, the governors, the senators etc. those are the people that you need to demand change from. Not an old woman you accuse of tying your destiny, not household wickedness, not a babalawo somewhere. Nigerians Please wake up. STOP praying and start acting
