A Nigerian man in his early 40s has been arrested for selling some of his children to ritualists.

Officials of the Nigeria Security service in Nasarawa State, have apprehended a man named Ayuba John for allegedly attempting to sell his son, Solomon, for N5 million.

Alhaji Mohammed Gidado Fari, the police commander in charge of the operation said John was arrested on Tuesday behind GSM village in Lafiia.

According to sources, intelligence officers were deployed after the police service was hinted on the suspect’s ploy to sell another one of his children to a ritualist.

The officers pretended to be buyers and negotiated with the man. An amount of N5 million was agreed upon and when asked how he wanted to be paid, John demanded payment in cash.

The suspect was immediately apprehended when he brought some bags to receive the payment in exchange for one of his male children.

The police command disclosed that the suspect had earlier sold one of his children to ritual killers in Owerri, Imo State.

According to findings, the suspect has 5 wives and 23 kids. He has made it a habit to sell one of the kids anytime things get tough financially.
