Anambra State Fire Service put out fire at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Nnewi-Ichi Uruagu, Nnewi North Local Government Area of Anambra State.

They said to have received a distress call at about 3:46am, today, Saturday 16th November and they deployed to the scene and contained the situation.

However, one life was lost during the fire outbreak. As at the time of filing this report, the corpse has been taken away by an ambulance to mortuary.

The cause of the fire incident is yet unknown.

UPDATE Information reaching us is that a Reverend Father and Parish Priest of the said Church was the casualty. RIP Reverend Father Edmund Nwagbala , aged 60, may your soul rest in peace.

Okay, one theory I have about this fires are substandard electrical equipment. This is just speculation, but someone once told me that the amount of substandard electrical equipment installed in Nigerian house was too much that if we started having standard 12 hrs light daily, the appliances will become faulty, cause electric shock, or burn. It's just a speculations though, I'm not sure. But it's best not to leave your shops electrical appliance switched on when you close since these outbreaks usually happen early in the morning.

We all know the one evil tribe that specialize & control fake goods in our country. Let's beg them to desist from these evil acts. For they are the cause of the death of the clergyman.
