Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Taison has been handed a one-match ban for reacting to racist abuse in his side's 1-0 win over Dinamo Kiev earlier this month, MySportDab reports.

The 31-year-old was sent off for his reaction to the taunts in the 77th minute of the match for Shakhtar.

Dinamo Kiev were fined £16,000 by the Ukranian FA and ordered to play a game behind closed doors.

Taison tripped an opponent in the 74th minute of thematch and was visibly enraged at abuse from a section of Dinamo Kiev supporters in the top corner of the stadium.

The 31-year-old picked up the ball and kicked it into the supporters before swearing and raising his middle finger at the opposing fans.

Referee Mykola Balakin deemed that Taison's outburst warranted a red card and dismissed the Shakhtar star shortly afterwards.

Taison was in an emotional state as he left the field, shedding tearson his way to the tunnel.

In reaction to the news, FIFPRO said on Twitter: 'We are very disappointed by the decision of the Ukrainian FA to hand Taison a one-match ban. Sanctioning a victim of racial abuse is beyond comprehension and it plays into the hands of those who promote this kind of disgraceful behaviour.' watch the video..
