ASUU expressed her fears concerning IPPIS based on some peculiarities in Job descriptions. For example, IPPIS will not cover a professor above the age of 60, it will also not cover a lecturer on sabbatical, it will not cover casual workers, guest lecturers etc. So ASUU had agreed with FG to develop an alternative platform to capture all these, but for FG to renegade as usual and resort to coercion. FG can never keep to agreement and most Nigerians also.

i have told you repeatedly - IPPIS is simply an oracle payroll frontend
several of us work in companies where oracle is used for payroll administration

all these stories you keep telling us about how IPPIS will not work with casual workers, over age workers, contract workers - you can only tell those stories to people who have not used oracle.

as for your claim that ASUU will develop an alternative platform - we are waiting. no nigerian lecturer has developed or led a team developing the most mundane software packages - and here you are claiming that ASUU will develop an ERP payroll solution from scratch. maybe they will code it using fortran tongue
Please do not insult anyone's intelligence.

Tertiary institution Act has given Universities financial autonomy. Just like states have financial autonomy. FG gives allocation to states, states spend her allocation. IPPIS is controlled by the universities.

Please quote relevant section and subsection of the act that gives tertiary institutions financial autonomy. Let us analyse your interpretation. A Federal institution cannot have the same financial structure as a State.

You are an outsider, with little information on the subject matter.
FG had agreed that IPPIS will not cover the grey areas ASUU is afraid of and had asked universities to take care of those areas using their IGR. The universities on their own told FG that their IGR cannot cater for those expenses.

Concerning software development, you do not know all Nigerian lecturers hence your assertion might be very wrong. On the other hand, let us assume that their assertion is correct, ASUU can pay any firm to develop the platform for them taking their concerns in perspective.
