My mom has this severe cough the has been disturbing her for the past 7 years, more like a seasonal thing, sometimes the cough will take away her voice and she won't be able to talk, she has done all manner of tests with various kind of drugs prescription and till date the cough is still disturbing her. A test was done recently at a private hospital in lagos and the result shows there's a growth somewhere in the lungs, so they prescribed drugs which she is currently taking and also injections, At first we thought it was as a result of her business ( frying akara ) we had to stop her from doing the business anymore. The one the happened today made me cry. I watched my mom almost coughed to death with blood coming out from her mouth n nose. That's why i decided to bring the issue to this place knowing fully the there are doctors and nurses on this forum, pls what knows what my mom is battling with we serious need help, she is just 45years and the illness is already making her look like 65 year old women. I don't know how to express my sincere sympathy. please take mummy to a teaching hospital or general hospital before things get out of hand. there are specialists with experience there and the drugs are cheaper than private hospitals. God will not leave mummy as she will live to testify.

Thank You Ma, right now im at work, my elder sisters took to a hospital i dunno if it's Govt owned or private. I'm just here praying.

I don't have anything to offer other than my prayers. God will heal ur mother in Jesus name.

Before the end of this year, that sickness will vanish for good and your mum will live to testify to the goodness of the Lord.

She is healed Insha Allah! Sickness is not her portion. And the sickness will not leave her body and seek refuge in yours or any member of your family.

Please aside taking her to an hospital for thorough examination, do endeavor to take her to a Holy house either Church or Mosque for prayer.

Hi . You need to take your mom to a government hospital. Was she tested for tuberculosis? Pls let them run a whole spectrum of tests on her. Wish her a speedy recovery.

From your post above, I think your mum is suffering from a condition called Hemoptysis (simply coughing up blood). It is a condition that usually requires serious and immediate attention. It can be caused by many causes which include : pneumonia, lung cancer, tuberculosis, bronchitis, drug use, lung infection, bleeding in the stomach and coughing out the blood etc. And there are very serious complications when left untreated.

The first step to treat it, is by proper diagnosis of it to really know its cause. Then, proper treatment of the cause can follow to regain good health again.

From the picture you showed, it shows the condition is getting more severe. Take her to a General hospital quickly as said by someone here. Don't risk it! It's your one and only Mother!!

After the proper diagnosis, you can come back here on how to get her treated completely.

Haemoptysis is not a condition. It is a medical word for coughing out blood.
My dear, take your mum to a teaching hospital. I wish her speedy recovery.

This is serious.
Mother is very precious, please go to another hospital to seek second opinion. Since tuberculosis is ruled out, other comprehensive tests need be done especially on the respiratory tract.

If a tumour was found then the illness is not unknown. What you people should find out is if the growth is malignant or not. I pray she survives this ordeal but if the case is what I think it is then...

I had tuberculosis in 2015 and I know coughing out blood is one of the symptom.

I can feel ur pain cos I was once on your shoe.
My mum had cough for close to two years..
We pass through alot before she could overcome it.
Ur mum has cancer and d cough is just d body way of telling u that there is something wrong inside of her.

I don't know if this would still be relevant but I have read stories of black seed oil working wonders for even cancer or whatever some people mentioned above
