Esut School Fees Increased To N174,900 by Newsman01: 8:13pm On Dec 03, 2019
Enugu State University of Science and Technology have just increased the school fees to N174,900 due to new implementation of One Time Development Fee which is worth N50,000 for Every Undergraduate in the School.

The School Board signed the New Development fee on 2 November, 2019 by the School Registrar.

The Development Levy Statement Says that:
The University Community is hereby notified that Development Levy is officially part of Statutory Fees approved by the university as a Compulsory financial Obligation on every student undergoing any undergraduate Programme in the University, Taking effect from 2019/2020.

Torixus Media Learnt that The School Management have not just concluded on imposing the New statutory fee on the student but it is now on the School Portal.

It really Show that the New Fee is a Most for every student undergoing undergraduate Program in the University.

Statement Reading Continues;

By this notice, Student that have not paid the fee are advice to Kindly Login t portal.esut.edu.ng, click on sundry fee and generate some necessary invoice and proceed to school designated Banks and make the Payment.

For clarity of emphasis, concerned Student who fall to comply with the forgoing would consequently be denied access to all University Services including Exams.

Deans of faculties, faculty officers, and head of Departments are expected to bring this information to the attention of the Students and ensure full compliance.


The Above statement was shared Online to different Esut Platform, which brought attention of Many People including People from other Schools.

Many have reacted to the Recent Development as an uncalled imposed Fee.

Onyekachukwu Obagu reacted to the Development Saying:

"It really hurts when things ain't getting any better;at first it was additional #10,000 for late payment of school fees,secondly, addition of #10,000 to 2018/2019 matric pack(making it #15,000),and then the latest development, #50,000 development fee making it #174,900"

Another Student Also reacted to the Development Saying:

"Come to think of it,there are lots of students and sponsors who find it hard to raise funds for full payment of fees talk more of development fee. There are several cases where more than two or three siblings or orphans are being sponsored by an individual, the poor masses are not happy at all over this new development, but the problem is "who will speak up"?

in ESUT ,the medicine faculty pays 300k law faculty 250k pharmacy 250k nursing 150k med lab 250k All this is development fee,just killing d poor masses.

If ESUT is the last university in this world I will rather not attend than go and pay this extortionate amount in the guise of school fees.

I think this is the only way to go.
Let the Universities fund themselves, just like the private Universities and you will never hear or witnessed anything like ASUU strike again, in fact ASUU will vanish completely.
The fee is still too low though!

honestly i agree with you, we should try a public-private partnership for federal universities because this strike of a thing is obviously not working.... At d end of the strike, the students suffer not d gov or ASUU.

Exactly, if government could only give Universities full autonomy and let private sector manage them with some form of tax or fund remitted to government, then most of the present strike things may be solved.
