If your car is modern and is equipped with automatic compressor (variable displacement or variable capacity type), and you intend to replace it with manual type base on advice by some ac techs. You may reconsider that decision. Modern cars, for example, a toyota with 2zr-fe engine is equipped with automatic compressor(variable capacity type), and it may be difficult to replace the original automatic compressor with manual compressor because of the following reasons:
1. The automatic compressor(Variable displacement or variable capacity type)has a sensor mounted on it called AC flow sensor. This sensor is used to determine quantity of refrigerant flow.
2. The signal of the sensor is received by the ac amplifier(ac Ecu) and interpreted by the Ecu.
3. After the AC Amplifier( AC Ecu) has interpreted the signal from the sensor, the AC amplifier(AC Ecu) then sends a signal to the engine management computer (ECM) via CAN network. The ECM then varies the engine speed as appropriate.

So, if the VDC is replaced with manual compressor, it means the the reasons 1,2,3 will be absent. The absence of the reasons highlighted above may result in various symptoms including but not limited to: rough idle when the ac is turned on, engine shut down after the ac has worked for a while and so on.

2008 Toyota corolla! Present sir. Those symptoms no dey worry me for the manual compressor for some yrs sef. Apart from normal leakages.



The only rough attack na wen u tamper with the battery, say u wan change battery or lend someone to support. U go hear am.

This is applicable for the late model corolla from year 2011 till date .
