The Executive Secretary, Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate, Dr Chioma Ejikeme said yesterday that Nigeria developmet foundation is laid by the Pensioners who had worked tirelessly in their youthful age to bring the nation together since Independence.

Ejikeme stated this while playing host to LEADERSHIP Newspaper Group. She said PTAD is a model organisation for the delivery of innovative and sustainable pension services, through competent and dedicated workforce, "I am previleged to be in PTAD and I have learnt a lot from my staff and I look forward to better days. She said.

The fact that government cares about people who put in their youthful years goes a long way in reinforcing the good intentions of President Muhmadu Buhari led administration on Pensioners welfare.

She added that public sector has been the engine room of development in the country of which the pensioners has been at the centre stage.
She also noted that one innovation the goverment has brought is the introduction of Single Treasury Account which prevented Pensioners' benefits from being diverted into any commercial bank.

She informed the Team that PTAD Pensioners are paid directly from TSA account with CBN. Thus, PTAD does not operate any commercial bank.
The duty of PTAD is to prepare pensioners monthly benefits schedule for upload into the government payment platform with CBN where pensioners are paid directly without any interference.
She explained that PTAD is hundred percent Treasury funded and it depends largely on government funding alone.

Responding, the Executive Director, Operations, Leadership Newspaper, Mr Rasheed Yusuf commended the leadership of PTAD for their commitment towards ensuring quality service delivery to Pensioners.
He solicited for synergy where relevant information regarding the activities of the organization can be given quality publicity.

He said LEADERSHIP NEWSPAPER remains one of the most vibrant media organization in the country and enjoined her to feel free to leverage on the existing relationship with the organization to reach out to the larger public on its activities and programmes.
