British Nigerian politician, Chi Onwurah, has become the first British MP of the 2019 UK elections, winning the seat with 21568 votes.

Oriaku Onwurah joked that since her result which was first was the only one at that moment, it meant the British Parliament was at least at that moment Labour controlled. New results have since rolled out, with the Conservatives sweeping through traditional Labour seats.
