It was another tough day for Ade as he went about his job. Despite how easy people said freelancing was, he rapidly found out that work was work no matter what it is called. Ade wished he had listened to Bolu and packed just his Laptop as his bag weighed him down. Missing yet another bus because of his speed, he swore.

“Campus! Campus! Campus!” he cried as he eventually decided to take a bike to his workplace.

His friends often found it odd that he still prefered to work from campus than home despite having graduated. Ade always told them the same thing “I can work in comfort from home by spending #1500 on data or from campus by spending #100 on Wi-Fi. If I handle campus’ discomfort, I save #1400 for two days feeding.” The situation in Nigeria has never been kind to those who can not save for the inevitable dry spells.
Ade liked to think of himself as a very hardworking person, Afterall, not many would be willing to write for #1 per word. Such work paid the bills though, so he had always put up with it. Besides, between the rare well-paid projects and a steady low paying one, he was quickly accumulating capital.

He thought that within the next three years, he’ll have a car, a house, and a serious girlfriend if he worked hard enough. The last time Ade estimated his height was in 2017 and he was 6.5” tall then. With a light chocolate colouration, a firm buttock, button nose, and wide chin, his friends have always called him handsome. Not to mention the numerous ex-girlfriends and even more numerous lovers.

One Hour Later:

As he looked at the mechanical engineering faculty once more, he thought the name spider could not have been more appropriate. He sighed at the two stories climb he needed to get to his spot in the seminar room. Spotting one of the other regulars at the classroom, he waved a greeting.

“Wi-Fi no go oo” was the first thing out of Tobi’s mouth upon seeing him.

“We go manage am.”

The truth was that Tobi’s laptop was faulty and although he knew what was wrong with it, he didn’t want to say. It was a wicked grudge to be holding, but he knew that Tobi was the one who stole his wallet last month. Sneering at Tobi’s back as he passed him by, he thought “good riddance.”

Ade grunted as he dropped his bag onto the table, heaving and panting with the exertion of such a long trek. It was worth it though, the distance from the main academic areas meant that interruptions were rare at the Spider building. The bag was open in a flash as he popped out his food storage container, his jacket, and a cover clothe. His friends always warned him of sleeping in classrooms, but he was used to working at night and couldn’t help himself. Finally taking out a bottle of Chapman, he drank deeply and rested a bit to regain his strength. Powering on the PC, he connected to the Wi-Fi...

Then all he knew were pain, fire, and light.

Later:

He did not know how long he spent buried under the rubble, all he knew was he had been insensate and his head was ringing. He crawled out of the rubble that used to be a three-story spider-shaped building. Looking back at where he had been buried, Ade wondered how he had not died. The ringing in his ears only just registering after the whole ordeal, he collapsed on the ground in disbelief.
“was it an earthquake?” rang in his mind as he tried to correlate his current circumstance.
Unexpectedly, the ground trembles again as both he and the rubble were blown back in a flash of light. This time, he stayed awake, but only enough to see the sky on fire and a golden figure who rapidly ascended to the sky.
“Wh... whaaa...t wa...wa...wasss in... in...that drink?”

The Beginning/End

℧ℨῸῲṍ℧ had never fought harder as he once again slammed his “glory” against “the thing”. As always even his might failed to lay it low as “the thing” staggered from the blow. The return blow came out of nowhere and her head rang from it. He saw one of his brothers swallowed by its light as another was snapped up in its many jaws.

She flew high into the heavens and readied “the end” but the beast was no fool and rapidly split its bodies into many. She simultaneously annihilated 10,000 of its bodies by slipping her “grace” through its grasp and calling down a “star”. He remembered his father telling him of 666 but had never realized it was such a power.

As the battle raged ever fiercer, they flew across oceans and land with the blows growing stronger and the hits coming faster. At some point it was “dragon” and at another, it was “beast”, but regardless of which shape it was, she kept it at bay.

She saw ∞ΘΦΠΠͶ∞ attempt to end it by casting “the end” and was not surprised to see him fail, that “glory” belonged to her alone. His reward was to end up in the “beast’s” stomach, angry, she hurled “destruction” at him but it simply regenerated the damage.

He only noticed the shifting space after it was already next to him. While distracted, “the thing” had also slipped some “grace” through her watch and shifted to his left.

Standing up from the rubble it had made of the temple where it landed, he saw the bodies she sensed most of its occupant dead. She donned her “glory” again and prepared to ascend into the skies once more before she sensed one of the bodies moving.

Her “opponent” flew tall in the skies as her brothers attempted to bring it low. Deciding to take the time to prepare the final blow while his sisters distracted it, he took some time to be impressed at the body’s resilience. Her “grace” flowed into her through the great divide and enveloped her in its golden bands and her mind sharped.

The body that crawled out was missing a great many things and even as she looked at the human child, his lifeforce faded with every passing second. Perhaps it was a whim or a plan, he did not know, but he knew what to do next. The glow around the “winged being” intensified for a moment as he laid a hand on the boy’s forehead.

By the time the boy opened his eyes, his spear was ready and she spared him no further thought and ascended to meet “the beast”. Raising it high, she took no small pleasure in its realization that "the end" was here.

The spear was thrust and the truth was revealed. A beginning/end and the promise of things to come/passed away. ℧ℨῸῲṍ℧ smiled as he was born/died. “The beast” was destroyed at long last. His first/last vision was a rainbow and an echo of the end/beginning of all things.

Kind of confuse here
Don't understand the story any longer

I'm only two chapters in. you'll understand in time, but to explain a few plot points:

the "winged being" does not associate with any gender and the name is in quote because even it's shape is only a temporary thing.

think of them as existences that are beyond the concept of shape and gender. Everything except their name is fluid.

you'll understand as you read more chapters.
