United States President, Donald Trump says the U.S. is developing Hypersonic missiles that are fast and accurate. He stated this while responding to Iran missiles attack on U.S. bases in Iraq. “The American military has been completely rebuilt under my administration, at a cost of $2.5 trillion. “U.S. Armed Forces are stronger than ever before. “Our missiles are big, powerful, accurate, lethal, and fast. “Under construction are many Hypersonic missiles,” said Trump. While Trump did not speak specifically on the Hypersonic missiles, the United States Air Force in 2018 said they are involved in what they call Tactical Boost-Glide (TBG) and Hypersonic Air-breathing Weapon Concept (HAWC).

In June 2019, the United States’ Air Force carried out the first flight test of one of its newly built hypersonic weapons. The missile, AGM-183A Air-Launched Rapid Response Weapon, was carried on a Boeing B-52 strategic bomber jet. The test was to evaluate the drag and wind impacts on the weapon itself. Hypersonic missiles travel at more than 15 times the speed of sound and have the ability to maneuver, and then to strike almost any target in the world within a matter of minutes. The missiles are fast, precise and theoretically unstoppable and can penetrate any building material or armored plating.

In 2019, the U.S. military department said United States is working on at least nine separate hypersonic weapons projects, with the research and engineering receiving over $2 billion from the $17 billion in the annual security budget. Aside building Hypersonic missiles, the United States is researching on technologies that can detect and defend its territories against hype sonic weapons.

Aside the United States, Russia and China are also building Hypersonic missiles.
