Hello everyone.

Something happened yesterday and up till now I'm still boiling from inside .

Okay, here is what happened. I set out around noon yesterday to get a new phone at Ikeja. While I was about to board a bus to Oshodi where I'd connect with a bus to Ikeja, I saw a glo Sim registration booth. I asked one of the reps when they'd leave, and she said 6 pm. I promised to be back before then to get one. On my way back, around past 5, I went there and started the process. I was told to buy airtime immediately in order for the Sim card to work, which I obliged, and told them I'd buy #200 worth.

Immediately I collected my pack, I gave another lady who works with them and sells airtime #200. She collected my card, put it in her phone, loaded it and handed my Sim back to me. I thanked her and was about to leave when she stopped me and asked that I pay her for the recharge card. When I told her I had paid already, she erupted like a volcano. She began to raise her voice that passers-by stopped and began to watch us, she called me all sorts of names, 'Thief' being the most subtle of them. Her stance when I dared leave, and leave her to her ramblings, was that of a woman who would hold a man's collar and decorate his face with prints from hot slaps. She maintained I would not leave until I pay her, despite the fact that her colleagues asked me to go. I was so embarrassed. #200 was and is not my problem, I just didn't want to san'wo omo go. Last last I had to give her another #200 before she quieted down and allowed me to leave.

Later in the evening, when I got home I put the Sim in my phone, and the first call I got was from the said lady's colleague calling me to apologise on her behalf. She said immediately I left, she saw the money and she's ashamed of herself and couldn't bring herself to calling me and telling me herself, that's she's indeed sorry... Blah! Blah!! Blah!!!

She said I should come back on Monday to get the money. I told her I don't need the money again.

As I'm typing this, I'm so angry... Even with the apology and the offer to get my money back, I still feel cheated. Some of the people who witnessed our little drama would definitely not be there when she found the money. To them I might as well be what she painted me to be.

How did I do? Was I right to turn down the reimbursement? How should I have reacted? If you were in my shoes how would you have reacted?

Something similar happened to me last year, the girl sells donuts, one day she claimed that I didn't pay for what bought the last time I came(no way!).

Before I know it, she got loud. I felt sorry for my introverted self.

Okay how much is it? "100 naira"(i have never bought anything at a total of 100 naira from her before, it's always more than that).

*maintaining her loud voice*
She then did some stupid calculations and said it's actually 50 naira. WTF!!

I just had to give her the 100 naira.

I couldn't eat or sleep when I got home, I had to take piritin tablets, I coulda hurt myself out of anger.

Hehehe

Sorry about that Bro. Ladies are Specialists when it comes to public embarrassment. They can easily gain sympathy from Onlookers and Passersby, which they usually cash-in on lol.

Just go collect your money if it won't cost you more to transport yourself there. It's one of those situations you just gotta have to let go Bro.

Cheers!

I remember during my 200l days, I was accused of stealing my neighbor's phone. All suspicions traced to me as i was the last person to touch the phone. He didn't take it lightly. He had me arrested. The phone then was one cheap kpalasa like that. (Flip up- Bird). That's the first time ever I would sleep in a cell. I was disappointed in my parents having to find out so I didn't inform them on time. After 5days, I had no choice than to tell my roommate to inform my parents. My father didn't even show up. Only my mom did. She swore heaven and earth that her child would never engage in such act. Eventually, the case ended after my mom bought my neighbor a new phone and all that.

10 years later, my roommate confessed to stealing the phone, my money and several foodstuffs. I just weak.

You did the right thing. There's no need coming back there for the money let her have it...

I experienced something similar December. I travelled home and tried loading my phone through my bank app cos my subscription was to expire the following day. The network was so bad so I decided to partronize the nearest recharge card vendor. On getting there I told her to give me Airtel 4k, she removed mtn and gave to me.

I have an mtn line which is my main line but the Airtel I was buying was for my data subscription. So I told her that nope it's Airtel I requested for. She started shouting that I've stolen her card that that's what people do these days. They would request for recharge card of #5000 snap it with their phone then return it back to her that they're not buying again only to go home and load it.

Then when another customer comes and request for card and those ones are given to him/her to load it would be impossible cos it has already been loaded leaving her with no option than to keep issuing card after card until the customer successfully loads one. And the loss of the ones that didn't enter would be on her head.

She was really raking o. That she has caught one of the thevies. That I should open my phone gallery. No be small thing o. People gathered and I even gave one of the overzealous guys there my phone to scroll through my phone gallery and when nothing was found I simply told them that I requested for Airtel and this girl brought mtn. Later someone just told me that since I've already collected the mtn and I have an mtn line, I should just pay for it and go. That that's the new style of theft guys do these days. They would request for let's say mtn say like 2-5k quickly snap it then return it and say it's glo they meant. The vendor would then collect back the mtn and tell them there's no glo for that amount, they would leave, go home and load the card since it's already been snapped.

I had no choice than to give her the cash for the mtn and still collected Airtel from her and left. I don't blame her though I know what it means to loose #500 recharge card into 10 places that's 5k. How much profit do they make per card kwanu?

Yes I have. Took a teaching job the year I graduated from school and was doing that while awaiting my nysc. Now those kids loved me so much and as such, they were very much interested in coming to school and this made their academic performance wonderful. Meanwhile, the woman teaching the other arm of the class was struggling with her own kids. Now, my class came first in all the interclass subject quizzes for the three terms. Next thing I know, the woman said I was having an affair with the head teacher that's y my kids were doing so well (how it relates to that, I never understood).

Now when the third term exams began, as usual she was to invigilate my class and mark my class scripts while I did hers. After about 3days into the exam, this woman reported me to the school management that I was having access to exam questions before time(exams that are being set from Lagos and sent to the principal o). I ignored her but to my surprise, the school management believed her.
Only for me to get to work the next day and discover that they sent a panel to investigate me all the way from their branch in Lagos. They removed me from their primary section and sent me to invigilate the secondary pending when the investigation will be over. They seized my class scripts and were calling my kids one after the order daily to ask them questions. It was so embarrassing because everyone avoided me like a leper. At the end of the day, the investigation was abandoned half way and the session came to an end. I never got to clear my name till I left them.

One Thing That is the problem with Women
Is Lack Of Logical Reasoning
To Jump into Conclusion without proof
To Act First then Think/Regret Later
80% of False Rape Accusations are from Women..
Your Wife will accuse you of sleeping with house girl
This is why Islam do not give Women Rights to do certain things.
You need Logical Brain to rule the world
Emotional Brain is for Women and Kids

I would not have paid. I have no shame. I am as corporate as I am rass.

Although I would have asked her to calculate her money. I would also show her wads of cash and tell her she isn't getting any.

You know, sometimes the clothes we put on will make us suspect/innocent of the accusation.

Humans are that superficial
