RESOLUTIONS OF THE 8TH ASSEMBLY OF THE STUDENTS' REPRESENTATIVE COUNCIL SITTING ON THE 25TH OF JANUARY, 2020.


✔The sitting started at exactly 9:40 am.

✔Opening prayer was led by the speaker.

✔Minutes of the last sitting was adopted.

✔Notifications were taken.

✔The Ethics committee gave their reports to the house and the council strongly recommended the following to the executive committee:
- Based on some criteria as presented by the ethics committee, certain individuals should not be included in the membership of the SUCC.
- A workshop should be organised for the members of the SUCC.

✔The president briefed the council on the SUCC and other matters arising including the SU event centre and issues regarding sales of accommodation forms.

✔The following was approved as budget for the Executive Committee:

- 148,500 Naira was approved for the office of the President

- Funds for the welfare package are to be sourced for from sponsors as stated in the budget presented




- Other projects were pended as the Finance committee was still making findings

- 328,680 Naira was approved for the office of the General Secretary

- 486,200 Naira was approved for the office of the Treasurer

- 840,070 Naira was approved for the office of the House Secretary

- Other items were pended until the finance committee can make appropriate findings regarding such issues

- 190,190 Naira was approved for Kunle Adepeju's day celebrations.

- Other items in the Executive budget were pended until the finance committee is able to make appropriate findings regarding them.

✔1,938,778 Naira was approved as budget for the Students' Representative Council.

✔The sitting ended by 9:16pm.

Lol 1.9 milli is small. I remembered vividly how the sug of a polytechnic I attended embezzled over 1 milli, this is around 6 years ago.

The money in question is small for union of that status.
And for those of you shouting corruption up and down, continue!

Ahh the money is small oo.. Cant even fund tangible project on campus.

Seriously 1.9million is small for a whole university union.
But since it's 1.9million maybe the guy is not corrupt.

As long as the allocation followed due process before approval, I see nothing wrong.

I only hope they make good use of it.

Small though anyway time to look for SUG friend

I remember being the speaker of my Faculty very few years back.

The president brought a proposed budget of about 6million, which was later ratified to 3m plus after sitting for more than 36hours.

Tho my faculty (Engineering) is one of the richest with a good number of sponsors. School allocation to the faculty was only 900k plus.

This 1.9 million is just for allowance and incentives for the union officials and not the sessional budget.
