thesicilian:And easily usable. I have used windows and Ubuntu, one thing I can tell you is windows is much easier to use. You can download apps with ease, launch programs with ease etc But Ubuntu, you almost have to know a bit of programming shi to do almost everything(from downloading apps to updating softwares and the likes) I had different partitions for windows and Ubuntu, from Ubuntu you can access windows partition, but not Ubuntu from windows(why the secrecy!! Lolz, I know its based on its programing language wareva, but I gats show wickedness), I eventually abandoned the Ubuntu partition. I love simplicity, so I will rather work on windows than Ubuntu 4 Likes |

holaboy3: lol windows is good to 'surface users'. Once you try to go deep, 1st you must install a paid windows OS, afterwards your pay for every damn usage such as Remote Desktop and co. Microsoft has perfected itself in marketing its products. Microsoft caught her users young and made them stuck to Windows. 1 Like |

The real reason is actually number 7. It comes pre-installed. As a result of this pre-installation, millions of people worldwide have come to associate computers/operating systems with Microsoft Windows. THEY LITERALLY KNOW NOTHING ELSE. Any other OS would be just as popular if it came pre-installed with devices. Case in point, the Android Operating System. A lot of people associate mobile/smart devices with this OS and they simply know nothing else. |

why do people keep talking about what dey don't know a shit about , I agree with you that window os is widely used in the world but some points you dropped here are outdated For explain that Linux are not for general user, If you talk about Linux from 2016 down yes you are correct . But Linux distribution from 2017 till to date all extremely easy , user friendly and for general user , and the most is the our of the box ready package Like fedora and ubuntu that once installed you have full office, image, video, no driver wahala ,little packages ready to be used unlike window window might be popular but Linux is far more user friendly now than Windows just that you grow with Windows that's why u find it difficult to migrate, And lastly I find Linux more stable that Windows InstALL ubuntu 19 and you will change your mind It has inbuilt market for apps installing app like Android phone Easy to navigate menus Low cpu and gpu calls Makes good use of your ram unlink window Low power consumption Fast and stable Good security If you are advance a better distraction free environment for software and website development And for general user Almost ready to use out of the box program for you Music player ( can access iPhone) Video player Libre office like office Webcam software Browser Calculator Settings Multiple user function Multiple screen casting and function Etc it is too many let me stop here Modern Linux like ubuntu and fedora Don't suck 1 Like |

That’s how it is everywhere not just Nigeria. It’s cheaper. But once you need your laptop for heavy stuff you gotta switch it up to a Mac or Linux 1 Like |

TheRealProphet:windows is the most user friendly and can pretty much handle everything you can think. mac is only good for content creators (cos of their proprietary final cut pro) and may be developers to some extent. linux still remains the best os/tools for developers. try and do other stuffs apart from content creation on mac and get fraustrated. especially gaming etc. 3 Likes 1 Share |

SendomC: Why are you deceiving yourself? There's only 2 valid reasons. 1. It comes pre-installed on most pc hardware. 2. Piracy. It's readily available for cheap/free. Software that runs on it are also heavily pirated and thus available. These 2 reasons therefore, mean that it is what is introduced to learners. |
