Well, youve said it all. Since you HATE (your own words) programming, then maybe you should consider another
career path, because it takes passion to keep you going.
Good luck in your future endeavors

Hi,
you had better go for the one you have great flair for I mean the one you can actually do even if it's not yet rosy.I would like you to rule programming out.Cuz programming without your interest is not only boring but a complete waist of time.If you like flashy things and you appreciate color combined with the skills you claim to have I bet you would be very good in graphics designing and hence Multimedia is your way.
Are you a bit abstract and can withstand hradware fault and somerimes you become crazy and solve a two year riddle in 5 minutes, if you love enineering as it way and you are very curious you could go for networking.
I hope you would choose the best and remember the earlier the better for you.

Youve got the most candid advise here mate, I need say no more than this:
At every point in time make sure youre on the path that'll lead you to achieve your dreams.

Bear in mind though that sometimes a man has to give up what he really wants (albeit temporarily) due to circumstances, but the burning desire to achieve his dreams should never leave his thoughts.

Good luck

WOW i would really love to advise you but i cant. because i'm in a very simillar quandry myself.
However, you say you hate programming, they say there's a thin line between love and hate, i say not in career matters. Follow your heart.

Hey smile 007,

Follow your heart, i was in your shoes years back and i decided to follow the IT path that gives me satisfaction. I settled for Networking and Multimedia, a Cisco professional and a web expert i have no regrets. Took database and programming electives but could nt stand them so follow you heart. smiley

you've heard it all, I'll just add that to be progressive and productive in whatever you choose to do you need INTEREST and DETERMINATION.

Hello!
As we all know that IT(Information Technology) is very wide, you have to follow the one you have interest on rather than jumping here and there. Never mind, if your friends are into programming, choose your part today and walk on it.
I wish you the best in life.

I believe that to excel in IT you must know something about everything. There is no doubt that IT still revolves around coding, or call it programming if you like. Even a good networker still needs some knowledge on coding. You want to issue commands, you want to edit system registry etc etc.

My advice to the poster is that you must love programing, because you will meet it sooner or later in whatever specialisation of IT you find yourself. The earlier you take to this, the better.

I've always been interested in programming but in Abuja there is almost no reputable institute to learn Java PROPERLY. If I'm wrong, someone help me out. All that seems available is networking. angry
