That image sitting down has glue or something over it, you touch and get stuck or something

I can. Still remember
They call that statue "shigidi", once you are about to go and steal at that man"s farm your body will glue on it and you will not be able to escape, until he comes...

that statue was not for a farm but for a market. A thief always comes to steal from the traders every market day with a moving palm tree so the traders consulted a statue maker to make a sticky image in other to catch the culprit, which of course was tortoise. He got stuck when he slapped the image

I remember it's a story from a jss1 english text book, i think it's called " The dancing Palm tree"......... Thanks For taking me on a trip in memory lane.
