The airtel data advert portraying happening in a family with two ethnic group have been in the media space for sometime now with some of us enjoying the display of the in laws in the short clip. However in its recent clip the advert displayed an ethnocentric view towards the cooking of the husband mother who is yoruba adding extra water to increase the soup quantity. Airtel as a big brand should be aware that this kind of advert would generate so much emotional and sentimental feedback. Kindly express your view, is it actually true that yoruba food is usually watery especially soup as portrayed on the advert.
