Spurs will rue one defensive lapse for being behind as Toby Alderweireld allowed Giroud to break in behind far too easily. There was a time when they were well on truly on the back foot, although they showed resilence to carve out a couple of good openings in the final third. It's not over for the visitors yet, but they have to be more clinical in the final third.

However, the rebound falls kindly for the home side as Giroud collects and smashes his effort into the back of the net from 10 yards.

14' WIDE! Barkley surges forward down the right flank and he takes the opportunity to fire at goal from distance, but he curls his effort just wide of the left post.

13' Giroud rises highest from the resulting corner, and although he makes contact, the ball comes off Davies last to travel over the bar for another corner.

12' CHANCE! Alonso sends Mount into the left inside channel with a fine pass. The England man goes for a low strike on his left foot towards the near post, but Lloris reads the strike and pushes it behind for a corner.

10' SAVE! Chelsea fail to clear their lines from a second corner from Spurs. Lucas displays quick feet on the edge of the box after being teed up Bergwijn. He drills a low strike towards goal, but Caballero gets down to make the stop.

9' Azpilicueta has to make an important challenge to break up an attack by the visitors led by Bergwijn, although Spurs still have a corner on the left flank.

6' Rudiger loses possession and Winks has the opportunity to release Lucas behind the Chelsea defence, but the midfielder overhits his throughball out for a goal-kick.

4' Mount tries to steal possession for the home side, but he raises his boot too high for the referee's liking in a challenge with Ndombele.

2' Alonso collects in space on the left flank and hangs a cross deep towards the back post, but Vertonghen is well placed to clear the danger for the visitors.
