MESSAGE: The Mystery Of Names (PART 1)
BIBLE PASSAGE: Proverbs 22:1 : A GOOD name is to be chosen than great riches, and loving favour rather than silver and gold.
Ecclesiastes 7:1: A good name is better than precious ointment; and the day of death than the day of one's birth.

INTRODUCTION
Beloved, from our anchor scriptures, we can learn that a good name is better than riches (money, wealth, material things) and precious ointment (anything valuable) etc. But I'll like us to note the adjective "GOOD" there , which means it must be a name that is reasonable, sensible, purposeful, competent, positive, effective and having goodly qualities.
WHAT IS NAME?
A Name , is that which someone of something bears.
It is what a person is known for.
According to what it means, it is the first Calling of a Child of God (Abraham, Isaac, Jesus etc).
Your Name is the Spiritual access to your Destiny.
It is God's Will that everyone (especially Christians) are named after His Divine Order. It is therefore a Divine principle to be named according to who you are meant to become; by the will of God. That's why the first thing you say, when a person asks about WHO YOU ARE? (Your identity) ---is your Name.
It is a summary of You in one word.
Your name is who you are.
Changing or customising it will only reduce you in glory/person and not add to you.
Respect your Name , Regard it and Thank God for giving it to you.
Name plays a very vital role in every life. It can:
- Make you
- Break you
- Save you like "JESUS." Matthew 1:21
- It can bless you
- it can curse you
- it can hinder you
- it can prosper you
- it can deliver you
- it can affect you negatively or positively
- it can work against you
- it can give access to your life
- it can can correct your life and reposition you for blessings like Jacob--Israel. Genesis 32:28
- It can implicate or determine the turnout of one's life like Jabez . 1 Chronicles 4:9.
- it can secure your future
- it can rearrange you.
- it can change you
- it can predestine you
- it can scatter you
- it can limit you
- it can favour you
- it can connect or disconnect you
- It can direct you
- it can speak for you
Everything and everyone God created has a name and the meaning of every name is very important. It is the meaning that is effective and not the "name" as a Noun. So, it's not about how long it is spelt, how awkward it sounds , how old fashion you think it is or how funny it sounds but what it MEANS. Beloveth, to deeply understand what am saying, lets look at some :
*FACTS ABOUT NAMES*
- Name is Purposeful : The purpose of every name is to affect the life of it bearers, either negatively or positively.
- Name is Powerful : name is powerful because it can determine your life, your destiny and what comes to you. Being without name is like being invincible. When people don't know the name of something, they can either call it something else or leave. Thus, name can determine who comes to you.
- Name is Valuable : that is why Ecclesiastes 7 :1 says it is better than "precious" ointment. Not just any ointment but a "precious" one at that. So, it is therefore valuable.
- Name is Intentional : you can not indirectly call someone's name, you can either call it or not call it at all . Name means what it meant , and will serve it purpose.
- Name is Revelational : Yes! if a person is named by God, those with spiritual understanding can easily tell about the person or what they'll become or who they are just by knowing the name.
- Name is Everlasting
- Name is your first identity
- Name is an access or key ; that's why to get ones attention either spiritually or physically, his/her name has to be mentioned.
- Name is a Signature : for instance in the absence of someone, the best way to refer or get something done for them is to do it in their NAME.
- Name is an Impression : Whether first or second. The first thing that comes to people's mind about you is dependent on the name you bear. When you call someone a "book seller" , it already tells whoever is listening a lil info about the person you are talking about.
- Name can be direct or indirect: Your direct name is what you bear and your indirect name is your personality as a result of what you do, what you are known for or how you behave.
- Name is an Helper
Having known this, Glory be to God.
But beloved, because something is good , doesn't mean it is good for EVERYONE. Not every good name is GOOD for everyone. Your name could be good for you and not for me or any other person and vice versa. But, it doesn't mean it's all bad. This is why it is important for us to know : The Purpose Of Names or The Role Name Plays in the lives of it Bearers.

(PART 2)
Subtopic: The Purpose of Names :

Beloved, every name has a purpose , every name has an intent, every name has a destiny to fulfill and every name has a role to play in the lives of the bearers. And that purpose can only be served in the life of not just any bearer but the DESTINED bearer.

What do I mean? well, it means ; every name has WHO it has been made for. If for instance, you are meant to be called WEALTH right from heaven and your parents named you JOY, just as the name implies, you might have JOY but never have WEALTH to the fullness God wants you to. True JOY will only come into such life when the bearer is bearing the right name.
Just as candle and fire are made for each other, so are names particularly meant for things and for specific people. Thus am yet to see what doesn't have a name, even "nothing" is a name. But that's not all what we want to learn about this evening, but the purpose.

Let's further look into some descriptions of a purposeful name. Such as:
1- The purpose of a name is ike a seal to a person's glory/destiny
2- it is like light into the darkness of one's life
3- it is a direction to your path.
4- it is a prophetic declaration about you.

Now, having known that, What then is the Purpose meant to do? Or why is it so important?----Well, Anything purposeless can never be useful, it can never amount to anything, because it has no set goal to achieve.

Below are some purposes/roles of names in our lives :
Purpose 1- It is meant to Serve:
The best way for any name to fulfil it purpose is for it to serve the bearer. Your name amongst other aspects of your life is like a service provider that provides a certain service for the progress of your destiny. If your name is not serving you , its because it lacks purpose.
Purpose 2- It is meant to Help :
If your name is not helping you, it doesn't mean that it is not serving it purpose, as purpose can be good or bad but it just means its not a GOOD name. It also means that such a name is wrong for you and therefore can not help you.
Purpose 3- It is meant to Speak for:
Beloved, your name can speak for you where you can not speak for yourself. It doesn't mean it has a physical mouth but, we can say test the mouth of a name is the meaning of it. When your name speaks for you it means you are enjoying the purpose of such name, it means the meaning is having effects on you. Brethren, did you know that ; Although, David was Well-Loved by God in the bible, His name also meant WELL-BELOVED?! So can you see how it spoke for well him?!
The name " Abraham " means a father of multitude and God made him so. but before that covenant was made, just like Jacob, God had to change his name to what can SUIT his divine destiny. So, surely, name can speak for you. But again, depending on the purpose, it can as well speak Good or evil against you.

Beloved, there are two main processes of naming. it's either you GET a name ; which is the one you were given to by your parents. or you EARN a name ; which is the one you acquired for yourself based on your personality in the society as a result of what you do. for instance, people can not "call" you "successful" , until you are truly SUCCESSFUL. they can't as well call you a GOSSIPPER if you don't GOSSIP and so on like that.

Still, there are some errors that has been committed during these two processes mentioned.

What errors?; errors that has caused us to bear the wrong names, suffer for what we know nothing about as a result of bad names, errors that if not corrected it could be unamendable as one grows older. errors causing failures, hardships and disappointments. they are what I refer to as :

THE ERRORS IN NAMING

Error 1- There is an error in Naming when a child from a supposed christian Home wasn't Christened at birth: Brethren, this simply means the Child wasn't dedicated to God. automatically heaven may not as well be aware of His/Her existence in Christ, except Salvation by accepting Jesus is done.

Error 2- There is an error in Naming when a Child is being named after an idol, an event or circumstances : The source of your name, shows who/where you belong to and equally determines what will follow you. for example in the Yoruba part of Nigeria, names such as OGUN this, SANGO that, OSUN this and so on like that being used by Christians up till this present Christian Graced generation, can never be in line with God's will for their life. such people are already living their lives under ERRORS. "Abram" in the bible was an idolatrous name, that is one of the reasons why it was changed. what happened during child birth (either good or bad, e.g the mother or father died , or hardship etc) and your personal desires should NEVER affect the naming of your child.

Error 3- There will be an error in Naming when the source of the Child is not DIVINE or GODLY : This is because, who God didn't give to you , can not be named by HIM, (in cases whereby, the child was gotten from the devil). it's just like when you didn't get something from the manufacturer , and you now expect to take it there whenever you have complaints? , lol, it's impossible. or when the child was born out of adultery , and you expect God to bless his birth?!. e.g like when Abraham got his wife's maid pregnant but even after that, God still recognised , loved and favored the Child of his legal wife (Sarah) to that of the maid, and up until today, ismael (the maid's child/son) was never reckoned with abraham's children or remembered in the bible.
so as long as the source is ungodly, Saving Grace may only come when God himself decides to have mercy and intervene .

Error 4- There is an Error in Naming, When the child is illegally bearing His/Her Father's name :
Beloved, incase your parental upbringing or the marriage of your parents were as a result of Boyfriend and Girlfriend relationships, cohabitation, fornication, wedlock pregnancies and not legally/Godly wedded marriage ; whereby your father (especially) didn't perform all the due rights of marriage for your mum before they got married and you are bearing HIS SURNAME, I tell you it's a SCAM, and it will surely cost you alot in the future unexpectedly. There is an error here because, heaven was NEVER , I repeat NEVER EVER AWARE of their UNION. in churches like MFM , such parents needs to go for MARRIAGE CORRECTION. If your father doesn't know where your mum came from or has never been there before and your maternal parents were never in support of their marriage and you are still bearing his name as your SURNAME when it is not God that ALLOWED you to do so, I tell you, you are playing with fire. it is only a way of intentionally saying you are in support of ILLEGAL AND UNGODLY marriage, therefore being an enemy of God.

5- There is an Error in Naming, when the bearer is ignorant of the meaning of the Name , and the parents refuse to, or can not provide the real meaning of the name when asked : My brother, my sister, if you are in a situation where you
are always asking for the meaning of your name/names from your parents and they're always finding it difficult to tell you, ahhh!!! you better stop asking them and start asking God (in prayers) to reveal the meaning to you. if not , you will just be like a person with a problem that doesn't know it exists or in what form the problem exists. To be sure of this, just know that, they wouldn't want to tell you either because of ; they don't know the meaning of the name, or because the meaning will scare you (which means it's not a good one).

6- There is an Error in Naming when the name doesn't match with the Destiny :
Hmm. you were meant to be a leader in life with the supposed name "KING" as your birth name, and instead your parents named you "ENDURANCE!!! " , my dear, just continue enduring, the Lord is your strength in Jesus name. what you need to do, is to pray to discover your Divine purpose , and then deeply make research about all your names, before concluding where the problem is coming from.

7- There will be an error in Naming, when a Child's destiny has been sought after from a Witch Doctor at birth : you dont expect to be named rightly or divinely, when instead of a Church, the first place your parents took you to , after giving birth to you , was to a Witch doctor. this is a very serious matter. thus , you need to pray.

8- There is an Error in Naming , when a Child is being named as a result of their looks or who they resemble : It's a big problem if your name was given to you, based on how you looked like at birth or who you resembled. beloved, one thing that is very constant in life is CHANGE---Therefore, there's every possibility that, that child will grow and likely look different in the future. but when he/she might have been named wrongly as a result of the looks they had at birth, the outcome would be very unpleasant. being thin, fat, short, small, big-headed, having big eye balls, resembling one relative or the other shouldnt , I repeat, should NEVER EVER affect the NAME of a child, because the DESTINY remains the same and can not be changed.

9- There is an Error in Naming or rather in "Bearing" (in this case), if a Child is being called or referred to as ; Junior, My wife/Husband, randu, kekere, small daddy/small mummy etc by people around: Especially in this part of the world (Africa) today , it is very common to be referred to with names other than your birth name. this has caused alot of tragedies , as many of them has been approved spiritually by satanic forces. the tongue is very powerful, it possesses the power of life and death. I see no reason why anyone should call me anything negative other than my real name . you just have to set the records straight!

10- There is an Error in Naming, when biblical names are Chosen Wrongly : Personally, I believe even if you want to give your Child a biblical name, it's best you make a deep research on the lives of the bearers of those names that you're interested in giving to your child from the bible, because many of those names has been polluted by the kind of life the first bearers of them lived. for instance, Samson , Judas, Saul and so on, are not all bad names, but, the lives of the bearers has given the world a bad impression about them, and that is how many people judge those bearing those names today . whenever most people come across those with the name "David," they could as well possibly and playfully refer to the person as "King-David" or "David that Killed Goliath." because of the achievement of the first bearer in the bible. this is as well also teaching us to live God pleasing and destiny fulfilling lives, so that we won't spoil good names or stop people from bearing them.

11- There is an Error in Naming, When you or your parents went against the name God named you : Like I always say, it's not about how it sounds or how long the name is spelt but the meaning of it. if it is from God , and you see it truly matches with your destiny, then you have no right, whatsoever to change, customize or stop bearing it or stop your child from bearing it. If not, you'll be cursing yourself. as Christians, the moment we accepted Jesus Christ as our Lord and personal savior, that day, our WILL died and God's WILL lived. Hallelujah!!.

12- There will be an Error in Naming, when a child is being called what he/she is not or abusive names , either from his/her parents or anyone. thus, what you need to do in such case , is to rebuke such names and set your standards. if they can not call your name, or bless it or positively add to it, then tell them to leave it alone.

13- There is an Error in Naming When a Child is known with the Wrong Name : Beloved, the wrong name will give you the wrong identity and help you fulfill the wrong destiny. this particular error is not about you changing your name , but accepting what is not your name as a result of you allowing people call you what you are not. so once again be mindful of what you allow people to call you before you are known with it.

Alot of tongue speaking and even FireBranded Christians are ignorant of the errors in their birth names. thereby, allowing the prevalence of the devil in their lives. now is not the time to negotiate , argue, doubt or act oblivious. read through, examine yourself and see if you are guilty of any of these errors before deciding on what to do. but just in case you are sure of any and you want to correct them, you can do that by:

- Making research on your birth/names by asking your parents questions about YOU.

- Going closer to God for more Revelations with the prayer points; Oh Lord Reveal the secret of my birth to me and Oh Lord Reveal the Secret of my name to me .

- Be sensitive and make the necessary amendments according to the directives of God afterwards.

Even if you have to add fasting to your prayers pls do. just summon up courage and do the needful and I pray God will Help you in Jesus name.

I hope this message helps you to divinely do the right thing for your self and whenever you, or anyone you know, wants to Christen or Name a Child.

That's very thoughtful of you sir, but I also believe that the world would be a better place if we all individually decide to help those around us in need, with the little we have. God admonishes us in Colossians 3:14 to have charity/love above all things.

Be the change u seek sir. It begins with u n I. Let's do the best we can for mankind and leave the rest for God to make perfect, instead of complaining.
