Court Restrains Resident Doctors In ESUT Teaching Hospital From Strike by OEPHIUS(m): 6:32pm On Mar 03, 2020
The National Industrial Court sitting in Enugu has issued an interim injunction restraining the members of the Association of Resident Doctors (ARD) in Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUT) Teaching Hospital, Parklane, Enugu, from continuing with the industrial action already embarked upon.

The Court further restrained the Association and/or its members from taking any action in furtherance of the strike action pending the hearing and determination of the Motion on Notice already filed by the Enugu State Government.

The interim injunction was issued by Justice O.O. Arowosegbe upon the Motion Exparte filed by the state government on March 2, 2020.

Justice Arowosegbe ordered the Resident Doctors to “forthwith stop the strike already commenced and immediately stop any action in furtherance of the strike or any strike till the hearing and determination of the Motion on Notice.”

The case has been adjourned till March 17 for hearing of the substantive motion.

The Association of Resident Doctors of ESUT Teaching Hospital, Parklane, Enugu, had embarked on industrial action, which the state government faulted.

Funny...you can force a horse to the stream, but not to drink water undecided
You can't force ARD to work when you're undermining their efforts and sacrifices and this applies to all teaching hospitals in Nigeria!

Nigeria don't value doctors but other countries do. All our vibrant doctors are leaving the country to practice outside. It's a shame to our government for refusing to create a functional health system.

The overall boss does not care, since he can always go to London for his treatment, and his surrogates are telling us stories upandan instead of fixing the rot they created through senseless looting.
When shall we all be wise

Then they'd start redirecting patients to their private hospitals undecided

For just 135k you could get a 1kva Inverter, 100AH rugged deep cycle battery, 150w panel and a 30A controller + installation. The system would serve 10hrs daily on basic loadings. Call on us now

I'm sure the government purchased the jankara injunction.

The doctors should not attend to any patient untill their demands are fully met .

Let the crying governor and his family man the hospital. undecided

I dont blame most of our good hands when they decide to leave the country for greener pastures. when is it illegitimate for one to go for industrial action when needs are not met?

The resident doctors are students. If they are not interested in learning they can leave so we can get fresh intakes.

Afterall they also work very hard to sabotage other health workers strike action.
