This is a rock python...a very endangered African snake species.

Too sad it had to be killed. There might have been another way.

That's a python . They are not poisonous. Neither is it big enough to strangle or eat you.

From the markings it looks like a ball python. They are COMPLETELY harmless and very shy of humans.

You just killed a beautiful defenceless animal.
