But it is general knowledge that there were no sufficient testing kits all over the world.

This COVID-19 is a wake-up call to all Nigerians to change their ways:

1 It is a wake up call to our thieving leaders to stop embezzling funds that are meant to fund hospitals and other projects

2. It is a wake up call to citizens to get more serious with encouraging Science, Technological, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) development in Nigeria. Let us reduce our fixation on Big Brother Naija (BBN) and other inanities. Perhaps, if we had invested the time, funds and energy that we invested in such, we could have had a fighting chance of rapidly developing our local testing kits without having to wait for the white folks.

3. It is lesson for corporate organizations to take adequate interest in the health and well being of their customers; because when your customers and prospects are afflicted your business will feel the heat.

There's something called "TRIAGE". You start with the people most likely at risk, ie. high risk. These are people with travel history, or contacts of confirmed cases. They're not saying everyone won't be tested eventually. They're only prioritizing resources.

This is very good, the first step to defeat this virus is vigorously testing any suspected case. Without tearing then everything will be a guess work and sometimes serious cases may be turned down creating more new cases.
Test and isolate cases and start treatment to save lives.

I don't see anything good about this development. Only NIMR has come out to freely test naija citizens for the virus.
This was supposed to have been done weeks ago and not only in Yaba. The testing centers ought to be scattered around the country.
Our leaders are all jonzing forgetting that we don't v enough time and this virus is circulating en masse. They can approve 2020 cars but can't even buy the latest test kit which portrays result in 2.5 hours
All those NCDC figures, they are very inaccurate and misleading. Hundreds of people are already affected with these virus especially the poor masses and they may see it to be common malaria or fever leading to the increase in the consumption of "Agbo Jedi" in recent times.
Even if the enlightened masses discover that they may v symptoms of the dreaded virus, they would infect more people on their way to Yaba for a result that takes 2 days.
The worst is that only Lagos has a little bit of substandard equipment to test 4 Corona virus, other states are all depending on Lagos which has the record of the highest rate of infected persons.
Our president nko....dat one is another story on its own....

I totally agree with you that we have lots of lessons that we need to learn with respect to religions too.

I deliberately didn't touch on that here because of the sensitivity that Nigerians attach to it.

If you read one or two of my earlier posts on the subject on another thread, you will see where I had hinted at the role of over religiousness (if you permit) in the escalation of this outbreak.
