7 commons error messages for a laptop and how to address them easily. In fact, people get them all the time. So, instead of panicking over the situation, it is better to note down the error message along with the code number. Alternatively, you can take a screenshot of the message.

Identifying the source of the error message is very important if you want to fix it. Find out what you were doing just before you got the message.

Did you open a new app or program?
Were there too many programs running simultaneously on your laptop?
Does the error message include the name of the software or software maker?
Is it an informational note, or is the error message asking you to take action?
Most laptop errors behind these error messages are usually correctable. However, it is always better to find out what these error messages mean and what you can do to fix them. Here is a list of common error messages that you may encounter on your laptop along with their solutions:

Access Denied:
You might encounter this error when you are trying to open a particular file or folder, for which you may not have the authorized access. Else the chances are that you might have forgotten the password to open that particular file or folder.

Here is what you can do to fix this error:

Make sure you are using the right login and the password.
Activate the option that says “accept any authentication including clear text.”
2. Invalid Procedure Call or Argument (Run time Error 5):
You may notice this error if you are trying to call a procedure that is not valid for the platform that you are using. The error is caused by the Quality Analyst Function of your Operating System. Here are the steps you need to follow, in order to fix this error:

Close the program and save all your work.
Restart your laptop.
Open the program that triggered the error.
If the issue persists, you may have to uninstall the program and reinstall it.
3. Stack Overflow:
This error occurs when a program is trying to use more memory than what is available to it. Cold-booting your system should fix this problem. If it doesn’t, the issue might be related to the RAM or Swap file.

4. No More Connections Are Allowed (Error Code 71):
You might be seeing this error while trying to access a particular file resource on the network, especially the one that has connection limitations

Your network administrator might have implemented these connection limitations to prevent a breach of license that might have been obtained for the particular file resource. Ask your network administrator to change the number of connections that are allowed to access the file
If you are getting this error while trying to connect to another computer or a remote segment on your network, you may have to wait until the other connection logs out.

5. An Operation is Pending (Error Code 600):
This is one error you may come across, if you try to disconnect a device prematurely. Wait for a while until your system says it is safe to eject the device. If no program is running while you get this error, it could be spyware. Run a scan on your laptop and make sure it is spyware free.

6. System Cannot Find the Specified Device/Path/File:
Did you get this error while trying to install or update a particular file or program? Then you may not have the authorization to access it. Ask your network administrator to change the permissions and get you access to the file.

You might get this error if you are trying to access a location that is no longer available. If so, double-check the path of the file and make sure the location is accessible. In case the file is blocked, you will have to get it unblocked
