Well, when we are desperate, no matter how well informed or educated we are, we try many things as last resort.

Dr. Navarro an economist got tangled with Dr. Fauci, an epidemiologist on chloroquine treatment for Covid-19.

In medicine or scientific research, there is something called patient selection for every study or research which Dr. Navarro may not be aware of.
