Hindsight? grin

I only have 'foresight'. . . so no regrets.
I only have words of encouragement. . .commitment.

Once you get married, failure is NOT an option. cool

Topic,;
Marriage is not always 50/50. Some days you will wake up and may have to give 90% and your spouse will give 10%. Other days you may wake up and give 20% and your husband will have to put in 80%.

Communication and respect for self and each other, trust,laugh/cry together. don’t go to bed angry or hurt, remember your vows, don’t ask what you are not ready and willing to accept .

women: Do not expect your husband to change after marriage.
men: Do not expect your wife to not change. cheesy

When there is friction or problem,Please before sharing with outsiders(including ur parents, siblings, best friend,pastor/iman/native doctor),talk it over with ur partner.Let outsiders be the last resort.

Decide to make it work.

Yup! Commitment is the ONLY key to ANY successful marriage(most issues of unhappiness are ALWAYS self-inflicted).
People will always delude themselves that 'things would be better' with a new psycho. grin

Putting more efforts in "growing" your relationship without your heart in it, is like going to the stream with a basket to fetch enough water.

Remember whatever your heart is not in/focused at, only turns out half baked.

Though many people go into this thing called "relationship" without thinking with their brains and some just dabble into it with various "hidden agenda", that should not put you off, but think about it, why are you in your relationship? That should give you a clue.

You hit the nail with the wonderful hammer on the head!!!!!!!

One more thing, Women, if you always share your problems with 3rd party without sorting it out with your husband, be rest assured one of the 3rd parties will soon be sleeping with your husband, cos she she will give you "wonderful advices" that will drive you further away from your marriages, and so goes the Men. So beware.

Do not let a day go by without laughing together.
Do not weigh everything on a scale.
Do not give more than you are comfortable with.
Do not take anything given for granted.
I just think many people get so up tight that the forget to have fun and be happy and enjoy each others company.
Do not slip into the role of only a husband or only a wife.
You need to play so many roles. Wife, friend , lover,
And most important, invite God into your home, prepare a place in your home for worshipping God. If you have a place to eat, sleep, you need a place for worship, where the family assembles every day.

. . .For religious couple,by all means but for the non-religious,this wont apply.
I know alot of happily married non-religious couples.

Ifyalways I do not want to turn this into a topic on religion.
Many wise philosophers who spent their life time denying God, ended up proclaiming his glory on their death bed.
Some couple certainly are happy without being religious.
And some coupled do not even have the same religion.
Advise is not something a MUST DO.
However there is no power stronger than God.
