According to the information made available to IgbereTV by the Honourable Commissioner For Health, Obi Emmanuel Ikechukwu, there is a newly confirmed case in Enugu. The case has a positive travel history.

The confirmed case travelled out of Enugu on the 28th of March 2020 and returned from Jos, Plateau State, 2 weeks ago (14th April 2020).

The confirmed case developed symptoms on Tuesday 21st April and reported to a frontline health centre in the state on Saturday 25th April 2020. A vigilant health care worker, operating on a high index of suspicion contacted the Enugu State COVID-19 Rapid Response Team, and this case was brought in for sample collection on Monday 27th April 2020. The result returned on the evening of 28th April 2020 as a confirmed positive case.

The patient has been admitted into one of the Treatment and Isolation Centres in Enugu, while contacts are being identified, line-listed and for samples to be taken for testing.

Mr. Ikechukwu said that decontamination of the residence of the case will also be promptly carried out.

He further said, "The Enugu State Government commends our brave frontline health care workers, who continue to professionally discharge their duties."

"The Enugu State Government also wishes to thank the gallant members of our security forces who with our health workers, man our interstate borders and points of entry, day and night. While imploring them to tighten their dragnet in order to avoid further risk of movement of persons not on essential services, across the state's borders."

"The Good people of Enugu State are advised to stay at home, and only go out when absolutely necessary, further when going out, you are strongly advised to wear an appropriate 'cloth' face mask, avoid touching the front of the face mask, and always remove the mask from both ears at once. You are advised to practice physical/social distancing of at least 2m (or 6ft) apart from each other, and practice proper respiratory hygiene (cough or sneeze into your elbow, use a tissue if you must and discard immediately into a safe and secure bin. Wash your hands as often as possible with soap and water for at least 20 seconds (or the length of time it takes you to sing the happy birthday song twice) or use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer when there is no facility to wash your hands. Finally sanitize surfaces all around you as often as possible with a 1in5 mixture of bleach and water.
Please Stay Safe!"

I would have blamed him for traveling during this perilous time, but at the same time hunger is real.
maybe he had to embark on such travel to feed, maybe he waited for the palliative but saw nothing was forthcoming. maybe, maybe... maybe.

Anyway, I wish him quick recovery.

GreenArrow1:

Maybe traveled to attend a wedding or birthday party.

grin

chizidgreat:

I don't blame him but I blame our sleeping governor who told us to stay at home and closed borders yet allowed people to miraculously pass
The man even travelled out and travelled in again while, we the obedient ones are languishing at home and our businesses suffering.
I lost so many business deals this period because I chose to obey the governor's order.
Now, it is painful to note that others were travelling up and down while we obeyed and these same people will still bring the disease home after enjoying freedom.
Gburu Gburu, I don't want to curse you o.

this boils down to the fact that the Uniform men are not being sincere, they collect bribe at any given opportunity. I'm very sure he came in contact with them, but instead of enforcing the lockdown, they collect a meagre N100.

They build Isolation centers without Testing Facilities and only send samples to far off Ebonyi... who is fooling who

Just Imagine the whole of South-east has only one Molecular Laboratory but by Dave Umahi, yet we wonder why we have only tested paltry 10,000

I thought that there is inter state ban on movement. How come the guy entered Enugu all the way from Jo's? The security agents are not helping at all. The spreading continues if d security agents cannot stop bribing for those who want to cross d inter state.

70% of Nigerians have exhausted their cash or food to feed if this lockdown is extended.

Corona is a killer, Hunger is a killer too.

So on the 4th of May...

It’s now up to up to Nigerians to pick the type of death they desire
