READ... Lagos state Government plans to unveil whistle blowing against organizations that flouts COVID-19 safety rules

As plans are underway to ease the coronavirus lockdown in Lagos, the State governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on his official Twitter handle revealed that any organization that fails to obey COVID-19 safety guidelines will be sanctioned accordingly.

He stated that it will no longer be business as usual for any corporate body to deliberately usurp government directives regarding the coronavirus outbreak.

According to the state governor, the identity of the whistleblowers will be kept confidential.
As a result of the rising number of cases in the state, stringent measures need to be applied in order to contain the rapid spread of the virus.

Lagos state currently tops the list of states with COVOD-19 cases in the country, with the number of confirmed cases over 800 according to the data from the Nigeria centre for disease control.

In the same vein, it is also expected that the government will come up with other principles that will safeguard the general public as they prepare to resume economic activities.

Lagos state being the country’s commercial city and with a population of over 17 million needs to be extra careful in handling the pandemic in order to prevent the overwhelming spread of the disease within and outside the metropolitan city.
