Finished Driving Lessons, Ready For My 1st Car by damsel143: 6:22pm On Apr 30, 2020
Hello guys,

I am excited about this one and happy to share my experience.

I decided to utilize this lockdown well and started my driving lessons.

I have finished the lessons. I learnt both with Automatic and Manual.

Next is registration for Learners permit and buying that L tag.

I was told, I can use the Learners permit for 3 months while processing my driver's license.

I will need advice on insurance. I am aware my company has insurance benefits for car owners, however, I will love to get advice from experienced car owners.

I'm still looking out for a Toyota Yaris (Automatic) to purchase. I was going to purchase a Camry before, but reading the advice here, I will better stick to a Toyota Yaris.

I also need advice or support from any company that helps inspects a car before the purchase is done.

If the pandemic is over, I should be resuming at work in June. I want to resume driving, lol!

Bye-Bye to the daily spending on Uber, Taxify, Indriver, Ocar, Plentywaka, small bus...lol

If anyone has any good deal on a Toyota Yaris, please connect a ready buyer.

Again what will you advise on a Kia Rio (Automatic), 2010 up!

How do I get an experienced person to inspect a car before purchase?

Are there companies that do this?

I have a good mechanic who i use during car purchases.
Involving companies will be too expensive.

I know you are excited, but I seriously advise you to look very well before you leap.
Do your due diligence before you contact anybody on these boards. By due diligence I mean research any moniker very well before you make contact or pay any money.
A word is enough for the wise and good luck. I would hate to hear any stories that touch the heart about you!

When buying any car, don't fail to carry out a VINChecks, coupled with custom duty check. Congrats

Along with physical inspection. Trygo who is in Lagos will be pretty fine for that physical inspection.

Madam,
Be very careful.
There are a lot of dangerous and deadly people on these boards. Their agents are equally on these boards.
Do NOT allow anyone to stampede you.
Do your due diligence or investigating anyone before you engage them.
Check the VIN of all vehicles before purchase.
Check that correct and appropriate customs duty has been paid by visiting the nearest customs formation with photocopies of the SGD forms.
Please do not fall victim.

Yeah, irresistible to thieves

@OP, I don't know if it is only me but driving a car where the speedometer and other indicators are not in front of me looks odd.

Instead of Kia, go for Hyundai
Same parts but hyundai has stronger and more durable body

Yaris is more complicated than it looks, why not go for toyota corrola or avensis, kia and hyundai parts are expensive they are not as strong as Toyotas. For inspection, i will say go with Autologic or automotech.
