Why Be Guided By The Bible? by aladar(m): 3:49am On Jan 26, 2006
According to the accounts of II TIM.3:16...It is "beneficial, for disciplining in righteousness, that the man of God might be fully competent, completely equipped for every good work"
Still, many do criticize the bible as book written by men who wanted to gratify their own interest.
Why do you think friends?

Divine authorship of the Bible
kismat:

Depends.who wrote the bible?

If the context of the enquiry seems to suggest that the Bible is not the Word of God, then perhaps I could make some contributions. There is a difference between writing a book or document and inspiring it. I've not come across a text that says that God specifically wrote the Bible (in the sense of having literally penned down the words in ink and paper); but it makes a solid claim that the Bible was inspired by God (that is, He inspired the Bible to be written). We see this in 2 Tim. 3:16:

"All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for
correction, for instruction in righteousness."

Divine inspiration is not the same as men writing from human ideas, and it is in context of this the apostle Peter reminds us that holy men were moved by the Holy Spirit and spoke God's word to us:

"For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they
were moved by the Holy Ghost
." [see 2 Pet. 1:20-21].

This is what gives the Bible its stamp of divine authorship, and that's why I believe that the Bible is the Word of God and not the mere word of men.

Be careful what you accept when yu read the Bible. Jesus said beware the yeast of the scribes. The scribes were those men who had charge of copying and translating scripture. The most important word and name has been removed from scripture. The name of God the Holy Father has been replaced with "The LORD". The meaning of the name of God is not LORD. So why did they (Jewish and Christian scribes) translate the name of God the Holy Father into The LORD? Their excuse was that the name of God was too holy for human lips to invoke. But when we read the psalms we read David invoking the name of God in prayer time and time again. The prophets said the backsliders refused to invoke the name of God in prayer and God was furious with them.

There are also some false passages in the New Testament that create confusion of faith. In the Book of John: The passages that say In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and The Word was God. The Word refers to Jesus as we all know. But how can Jesus be God when Saint Paul says He(Jesus) did not make himself equal with God. Jesus was accused by unbelieving Jews of making himself equal with God but Saint Paul proves them wrong here. The passage was put there to mislead believers into worshipping Jesus as the Father and God.
Jesus himself worships God the Father when he prays in the Garden of Gethsemane.

There are many other passages like if yur enemy strikes yu offer them the other cheek. If a Roman soldier forces yu to carry his pack for 1 mile carry it for 2. Be careful about believing these things because they are not truths Jesus knows yu will face persecution but yu dont have to be a slave of the oppression and persecution by making life worse for yurself during persecution.
