Thomas Thabane: Lesotho's 80-Year-Old PM To Step Down by Nobody: 8:00pm On May 07, 2020
Lesotho's 80-year-old Prime Minister, Thomas Thabane, says he's no longer "energetic" and will step down in July as the country's leader, his office said Thursday.

Thabane has been under immense political pressure to resign over his alleged involvement in the 2017 murder of his estranged wife.

Thabane, whose official term ends in 2022, said he was leaving office voluntarily and retiring due to old age.

"The job of Prime Minister requires sensory perception as well as rapid and physical strength. Due to my age, I am no longer as energetic as I used to be.
As such, I have decided to voluntarily vacate office and hand over the reins of Government in accordance with the laws of Lesotho," Thabane said.

Funny how it always looks strange anytime an African in power relinquishes his position of power!

Maybe its because a large amount of SSCE holders haven't heard the name Lesotho before.....

Whatever resources or fund he will miss won't be much for a tiny country totally embedded in South Africa......

ManOfSteel insists that no Nigerian Politician will ever take that route

Because many of you young Nigerians are on Nairaland building castles in the air, instead of going out to do poltical jobbing.

I don't like Buhari, but he contested for election three times, and won on the fourth try. That's hardwork. And the sad thing is that democracy is hardwork.

Sowore is a wild dreamer, but at least he is out there fighting.

Meanwhile on Nairaland, people come here and construct long story about how they will change Nigeria if they were in charge and how the old men are not doing well. The problem is, most of you are not ready to do the hard work.

Go and join a party, even PDP and APC, and be the change you want.
