I was really interested to know about what will be the best Animated Film in the Golden Glob 2011, as I thought Toy Story 3 grabbed the title and it really meant to be, so thanks for sharing the massive information about the Golden Globe 2011.

I just knew "The Social Network" and "The Kid Are All Right" will win in those major categories. smiley

Natalie Portman won. Cool cool

Despite Inception's 4 Golden Globe nominations, it won nothing. Nothing spoil. wink

Aside from the king's speech, which else is brit?
The golden globes are even more open compared to the Oscars.  They don't really do sci fi / noir movies unless you count the technical aspects.

I'm glad for all the winners, most especially Annette Bening, but she should forget the Oscars as Motion pictures for Drama and Musical are not separated.

I'm so sad Nicole Kidman didn't win. I'm her biggest fan and saw Rabbit Hole,its her most raw layered performance ever. But aparently this is the year of the Swan. I really hope there is an upset in the Oscar dynamics i.e like last year Mickey Rourke won all awards for best actor, but the Oscars was given to Sean Penn. Maybe some scandal about Natalie Portman could come out ? Like her boyfriend is a con man ?. . Ooh sorry that happened to Anne Hathaway already cheesy

I agree ! If we look at it from the pity angle it might go to Anne Bening, considering they have smashed her hopes THREE times, twice with the same person (Hilary Swank), but I don't think this was her best performance IMO.
Which leaves Kidman, they have given her one and several noms already, so not looking good. But I still think this is her best performance along with Dogville. Her winning this year is really important to me as the only Oscar she won I did not watch that live.

I don't really agree that Britain have better actors, the few that could cross into Hollywood have to have been really good, which makes it seems like they have a lot of talent when it's only a handful of really good ones. Same goes to actors from all countries who have made it in Hollywood ala Marion Cottilard and co.

lol I love Colin Firth (Bridget Jones' Diary, Pride and Prejudice). That is one hot Brit and I'm happy when he wins anything or gets major lead roles. I'm sorry Johnny Depp didn't win anything; heard he was the only celeb to bring a "bodyguard" (escort) to the Globes grin. PPle found it funny grin grin esp with no award to take home.

i love sirs anthony hopkins, patrick stewart n some others, but colin firth, hmm, not a big fan. I usually like them when they are d villains with an accent e.g gone in sixty secs, etc

Which one is Boardwalk Empire? How can Mad Men not win? It was bad enough dat Breaking Bad wasn't even nominated. I shld know. There is no TV series I avnt watched thanks 2 TV shack. Mad men, better luck next season.

The Golden Globes, over time, have helped serve as some kind of barometer on who the Academy Award winners would be, and I'm so glad to see my boy (Lord Bale) is definitely in the running. Kinda feel bad for my other guy James Franco though - That Colin Firth is just too much competition this year.
I think Inception is going to be winning big on the technical section (Visual Effects, Sound, Cinematography) - and that's just about it.
With these results, I think I can now predict who the oscar winners would be:

Best Picture - The Social Network (long live the nerd!)
Best Actor - Colin Firth
Best Actress - Natalie Portman
Supporting Actor - Christian Bale
Supporting Actress - Melissa Leo
Original Screenplay - Social Network
Adapted screenplay - King's Speech
Animation - Toy Story 3

My brother, no talk this thing for public again, e hear? Because, if you actually saw that movie, you'd know it had very little to do with the technical aspects of that site. Infact, The Social Network was even more of a witty college drama than 'The Facebook Movie' a lot of ignorant people brand it. The movie is filled with superb dialogue, excellent lines, and a maelstrom of powerful performances.
Abegi, give to Caesar his rightful honor - that movie is brilliant, and definitely deserves every single accolade bestowed upon it.

All HBO do is churn out one iconic show after the other, those people can NEVER do wrong, right from the days of Sex & The City to Oz to The Wire.
For years I thought it was HBO that showed Mad Men(I don't know why), till I started watching the crap. I immediately knew it couldn't be HBO, what would you know . .it was AMC.

And yes Social Network. . . .  so overrated ! Jeez.

Thats the thing !! I've not seen it yet, I've read every review on it, seen the trailer 100 times, but it doesn't show in UK till Jan 21 (this Friday). We've booked our tickets down for weeks lol.

When I don't really like the actors in a movie,but still can't wait to see it. . .that's when I know I would love a film. (I love Winona Ryder - but she's in in like 5 mins right ?).
