And they would still end up using 1972 model trains on the tracks... smh!
Are the tracks not 1957 model.. What's different about it??

That railway line will only be viable if ajaokuta steel factory works.
If the factory is yet to be fully activated then fixing the railway is a complete waste of money as it will only be good for esthetics and will fall into disrepair if it does not generate funds for its maintenance. Or as usuall do you expect fgn budget to maintain it?
Claiming this as an achievement by buhari and that pdp did not fix it is crap. It's just like spending billions fixing train line from katsina to Niger republic. Where you might have 100 passengers a week, all destitute people that cannot pay N100 for train ride compared to fixing Lagos to ibadan train line.

You have missed our people's penchant for vandalism when they see that the rails are not used.
The rails system would have made sense if those steel companies are in production.

it will improve commuters travelling from kogi to warri , in the nearest future.
Time travel will improve and it can be used as cargo for agricultural products, thereby increasing commercial activities between both states.
i dont think it was an after thought...this was a project way back as 1987 under IBB.

what lacks quality in third niger bridge?? they are talks of the second niger bridge shaking.

You have a point anyway, let's hope for a better Nigeria. Continuity is what is lacking in government.

Old existing project that you completed and made functional?

The project was abandoned since 1987, 16 years of PDP rape and pandemic couldn't do anything to complete it. PMB has achieved more with less rather than hate and distress yourself just pretend you never saw this thread.
abeg shot up
always playing blame game once de manage to finish one small project

If the financing was entirely indigenous.. then kudos to oyr president. But if na china loan... then we have just sold a national treasure for another extension to the one belt road initiative. we definitely wont be paying the loan back and China has just completed a cheap supply route through which it will smove our iron ore from itakpe to warri ports for shipping.

The chinese know how to bribe their way around. They know our government officiaals are corrupt and they will do all the can to have direct access to our resources.

There is no such thing like standard gauge rail lines in the eastern Nigerdelta area where the oil money that finances Nigeria comes from.

What do we call Nigeria?

Whose legislative reps and people campaigned against the Lagos-Calabar standard rail gauge when the idea was proposed in 2016? Who are the people who said they don't want rail?

It could be him, but you didn't get his details with any IP address.
He/someone probably leaked his FB account or even his email.

For starters, Nairaland has a tough firewall to block IP trackers. Even if you get past it, knowing someone's IP doesn't mean you would know the FB account/email.
That's another step entirely.

Even phishing wouldn't be that easy, except there's co-operation on his part.

This claim is DOA. That's if it's even his identity in the first place.

No, I couldn't say that. All I'm saying is that we should've gone past this level of development.

I agree with you wholeheartedly. In fact, Nigeria didn't even need to strive to attain greatness, because of easy oil money.

Nevertheless, Nigerians don't stand up for their right, and they are the ones who keep voting the crooked politicians back into power.
I can't really blame the politicians. I can use an abused wife as an analogy. If a battered wife continues to stay with her abusive husband, can you really blame the man?

If a politician knows you're not going complain about all his empty promises, he would keep on making empty promises. This is not only in Nigeria BTW. It is true everywhere in the world where democracy is practiced.

If just one million Nigerians descended on Aso Rock, and streamed it live on youtube, the politicians would get the message.
