Chinese manufacturer Huawei is rumored to be working on releasing smartphones with front cameras hidden under the screen. How do they plan on achieving such a futuristic feat in 2020?

This will be done by placing the sensor under a part of the screen that becomes transparent when you want to take a photo. Wow, who could have thought of this being a possibility anytime soon?

Most new smartphones being released today have a "borderless" screen, but for these devices to have a front camera, manufacturers must be creative.
The most common solution is the scree notch like first see on the iPhone, which allows the smartphone manufacturer to place the selfie camera and other sensors on the front.

Two Chinese manufacturers, including Xiaomi, have already announced that they are developing this solution. Samsung is also rumored to soon be releasing a smartphone model with the front camera hidden beneath the screen.

As reported by Android Authority, LetsGoDigital site recently discovered two patents from the Chinese giant that describe smartphones that could have a camera hidden under the screen.

Should Apple release a buttonless phone, few OEMs will follow after a few months or years because Apple is notorious for forcing changes on its customers, be the changes good, bad or pointless.

Also they aren't that innovative, they implement others ideas, sometimes make it better or change the name in some cases.

i read am o... All screen display its like people dont know how almost impossible it is.... Its just like how they believed the samsung galaxy fold will last...how does one place one sensor on top on the screen which is already a sensor on its own..... The camera is already been done but not other sensors

yes.... Those with motorized selfie cameras exist.... And me sef no go gree buy that kin phone as a cybersecurity enthusiast i know that is just plain silly.... If someone can hack ur phone camera and spy on you when it can be covered.... Imagine when the owner cant even see it

I totally agree but I'm thinking bezeless phones with zero signs of the black bars,then probably they'll start competing for slimmer phones then finally maybe transparent phones looking like glass like we see in some movies will come to reality.
Just saying,it may seem impossible now but hey at a stage smartphones seemed impossible,touch screen phones seemed impossible.

Guy iphone never win any camera challenge in the world for the past 3yrs now...and most camera hardware are made by sony even apple buys their hardware from them na their ios software na e make am but android sef don upgrade....
