Atlanta police chief, Erika Shields resigned on Saturday after video emerged of another fatal police shooting of an African American, and as protests over police brutality and racism continued for the third straight weekend.

Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms, who announced Shields’s departure, also called for the immediate termination of the police officer involved in the shooting of 27-year-old Rayshard Brooks after a DUI stop, saying she did not “believe that this was a justified use of deadly force.”

Rayshard Brooks, 27, was killed by police in Atlanta after a fight in the parking lot of a Wendy's restaurant during a stop.


Officer Garrett Rolfe was fired from the force after firing the shots that killed Brooks on Friday night.

Officer Devin Bronsan, who was also present but did not fire but has been placed on administrative leave.

About 30 minutes into the interaction, Rolfe tells Brooks that he believes he is too drunk to operate a motor vehicle and that he is being placed under arrest. As the officers begin to handcuff him, Brooks struggles, knocking the bodycamera off.

Reading about it last night.. Another black man down. Some would say, he shouldn't have struggled with and grabbed an officer's taser. In this case, he should've been shot in the leg, lethal force wasn't necessary. Very messy situation.. how a man sleeping peacefully in his car wound up dead.

Defunding the police will solve nothing.

Knocking over statues will solve nothing.
Racist and tribalistic behavior is taught, if kids are not educated properly, it will be an endless cycle.

Are we the only race on earth for fck sake? Why always Blacks entangled in life-long assaults/abuses from within and without? Why? That is how it has always been, and now is and likely to continue till the end of time.

Sane Black freedom fighters like Martin Luther Jr would be disappointed in the crop of rogue race they sacrificed their lives for.
Some times when i watch 'Boyz and the hood', i feel like crying, pathetic set of people black in skin and brain. Even more pathetic to discover that black Africans are even worse. No technology, no development, no education, nothing. Nothing good to show the rest of the world, nothing to make them envious about us, just some proud, gullible race ruled by dull greedy leaders, who squander the money stolen on gadgets, cars and then pssy. Tell me, who takes such a race serious?

These whites are racists, agreed, but then, do we deserve any better treatment? In what way have we made ourselves a race to reckon with? When you present yourself to the world as piece of shiit, don't expect to be treated like a platter of gold.

The dude explained himself he told the truth, he took the test they could have walked him home he told them his sister’s place was up close, he wasn’t even driving at all, I don’t even believe he was reaching for no taser, they wanted to kill him, when he reached for the taser what was the other officer looking at, the odds 2 trained cops against an unarmed citizen!! The other officer could have reached for his own taser, with what I saw in that video
Stop reaching for the taser and then shots were fired he wasn’t armed he was just drunk and he wasn’t driving he offered to walk home and lock his car he clearly stated he doesn’t want any trouble@capslocked

I think US police should be issued tranquilizer dart guns instead.

In cases where the offender is being an ass they can shoot him, make him fall asleep and drag his/her dumb ass to jail instead

In most protests, you would see more men than women, that's the norm; but often in special protests like this, the reverse is always the case as you can always be rest assured to see the presence of more women, espcially white women.

I see white women everywhere holding placards in their hands, but when i looked very carefully, this is what i see written on the placards, 'Black lives deeks matter'.

I've seen many of their videos arresting citizens on fb pages like Police Central, etc.

Some of these police officers are just bullies.

Sometimes they frustrate you despite not resisting, drag you, push you, hurt you so that you can respond or fight back. Giving them a reason to use their guns or teaser.

Someone gave himself up for cuffing, he stepped out of the vehicle, put his hand behind for cuffs, but the officers were still dragging him to the ground to cuff him using force.



This lady, Breona Taylor, EMT Officer was shot dead in the middle of the night in her home by the police in March, 2020.

They bursted her home unannounced, the boyfriend thought they're robbers, drew his gun and the police opened fire on them, hitting the lady 8x.

Some of the police officers don't use their head before acting.

Problem is, some of these offenders are usually armed too. America is obsessed with guns. How many times will we hear the excuse of 'I thought he was reaching for his gun'. The police self no wan die.

Yeah, many blacks are targeted by the police for simply existing. If it was a white man, this wouldn't have happened. Police brutality cases are always against minorities especially black people.

if I hear, they all have tasers but the truth remains most of them are trigger happy whackjobs, I once saw a footage of a police officer telling a white woman she has no reason to be scared of him after pulling her over, he said we only kill black people so it’s more like there’s a bolo for black folks, the officer that took Floyd’s life could have opted for his taser to restrain him, the officer that murdered Philando Castile could have gone for his taser but instead he almost emptied his mag on the unharmed man right there in the presence of his girl friend and daughter
