African Thunderstorm by johari(f): 12:09am On Jun 13, 2007 |
I close my eyes and breathe, moist air, heavy, intoxicating, I lie in bed and wait, anxiously, ardently, A gust of wind I hug my pillow I hold my breath and feel it, lingering, looming, coming closer then, it starts lightly, teasingly, then, slowly, it intensifies faster, harder, Suddenly it's all over enveloping, replenishing, For that moment it's my world, i see nothing else hear nothing but then, with new momentum it gets wilder becomes wanton such force, such energy, it's too much pounding, thudding, satiating, I can't breathe Then, at an intense peak the apex of its rage it explodes, thunderously, releasing pent up energy diminishing its power to a gentle rhythm slowly, it fades exhausted, spent, finally, smiling content, i drift off |
