Wisdom helps us to know how to act and speak in different situations. It provides the ability to avoid problems as well as the skill to handle them when they arise. Wisdom goes beyond simple intelligence. The book of proverbs notes that even animals such as ants, rock badgers,locusts and lizards are wise

Proverbs 30:24-28

There are four things on earth that are small but unusually wise;
Ants:they aren't strong, but they store up food all summer.
Hyraxes: they aren't powerful, but they make their homes among rocks.
Locust; they have no king, but they march in formation.
Lizards: they are easy to catch, but they are found even in kings' palaces.

This is not because they have great intelligence but because they know how to navigate life skillfully.


The foundation of wisdom is God himself. No wisdom exist apart from fear of the Lord. Wisdom is closely connected to righteousness and remains distant from evil. Wisdom is gained through observation and experience, from instruction based on tradition, in learning from mistakes, and finally, but most importantly, through divine revelation.

In 1 Corin 1:25 - "This foolish plan of God is wiser than the wisest of human plans, and God's weakness is stronger than the greatest of human strength."

In whatever we do, the "fear of God" concept  must be applied in every situation. In it we recognise God's central place in the order of the world. This is more than just an attitude; it must be used as a way we live, taking into account God's power and authority and our ultimate accountability to him. We are to make choices in line with God's character and by entering into a relationship with the one who has all wisdom. WHY?

Colossians 2:3
"In him lie hidden all the treaures of wisdom and knowledge"

Chist is the All-Sufficient one! Knowing this fact is wise.
