If you consider a double - row crossover SUV that drives well and bears a Honda emblem, you will be more than satisfied with the 2020 Passport. While it's the opposite of stylish indoor or outdoor, it's equipped with standard driver assistants like adaptive cruise control and automated emergency braking. The passport also has an exceptionally comfortable and spacious interior with plenty of space to store cargo. In addition to the optional all-wheel drive, each model is powered by a fast and sophisticated V-6 drive train. Unfortunately, it is not particularly economical and driving is uncomfortable on rough roads. Nevertheless, the Honda Passport 2020 beat some popular mid-sized competitors in our tests because it offers the best combination of spaciousness, sportiness and value.

INTERIOR, COMFORT AND CARGO

Anyone who has experienced the inside of the Honda Ridge-line is immediately familiar with the passport cabin. Despite an unobtrusive design, the materials are attractive enough and the controls are well organized - although we want more buttons for controls instead of touchscreens. The front seats are wide and comfortable, with a practical armrest that can be adjusted for optimal comfort. The back seat is also spacious and allows the pass to carry up to five people. There is 41 cubic feet of storage space behind the back seat, which accommodated 15 of our hand luggage cases. Folding the back row unlocks 78 cubes and a total of 33 bags are transported. The interior storage space is generally great thanks to useful trash cans throughout the cabin and a huge trash can in the center console.


ENGINE, TRANSMISSION AND POWER

Under the bonnet is the same 280 hp, 3.5-liter V6 and nine-speed automatic transmission as the Honda Pilot. If you want to use the all-weather capability of the all-wheel drive, you can add it for additional money. Otherwise, the Passport has a standard front-wheel drive. The ground clearance is a useful 7.5 inches (8.1 inches for all-wheel drive models) and the Passport can pull up to 5000 pounds. However, the two-row Honda has a hard ride when venturing off-road, and its high ride height contributes to top-heavy behavior. Driving is comfortable on most roads and the steering is pleasantly direct, giving Passport a nimble, agile feel behind the wheel.

INFOTAINMENT AND CONNECTIVITY

The lowest Passport has a simple 5.0-inch display for its infotainment system. Every other model has an 8.0-inch touchscreen with Apple Car-Play and Android auto-integration. However, if you want a 115-volt socket, integrated navigation, an improved audio system, a WiFi hotspot and charging mobile phones, you have to choose the top models Touring and Elite
