Private Labs In Lagos To Conduct COVID-19 Tests, To Cost Between 40,000-50,400 by ikorodureporta: 6:16am On Jun 30, 2020
Lagos residents who are unable to get themselves tested in government own facilities would henceforth pay N50,400 in a private laboratory to conduct COVID-19 test.

The state’s commissioner for Health, Professor Akin Abayomi disclosed this while launching the Lagos State Private-Public Consortium on the management of COVID-19 to increase the capacity of the state government in the management of the pandemic.

He said though the tests were being conducted in government owned laboratories free, the approved private laboratories will conduct COVID-19 tests in the state at a cost of between N40,000 and N50,400.

With this development most residents, particularly those with suspected symptoms are apprehensive that they might not get adequate attention from the public hospitals or other facilities, where they usually undergo the screening free of charge on the excuse that the testing kits are inadequate.

The state Commissioner for Health, Professor Abayomi said the inclusion of the private consortium in the testing was part of the moves to expand the state government’s COVID-19 response capacity.

Corona for scam

Imaging telling people who could not afford 3 square meals a day , to pay #50000 for test. Who are those people the government are testing everyday?

I discover that Lagos conduct more than #1000 tests everyday .

In Alimosho LGA, where we have more than #2000 Covid-19 patients. I have not seen anybody who has gone for test or declared positive.

Is government testing ghosts?

shocked Wow, I just read the article. Honestly, this thing is a SCAMDEMIC. I'm not saying the virus is fake but they have turned the whole COVID-19 thing to a business center. With this development, they will start giving excuses of no available test kits in public hospital again and sending people away to private clinics that they own themselves or have percentage share in the 50k tests. We have the most heartless criminals running this country. .

Then people will continue spreading the virus. Let's see how Lagos will turn out if 90% Lagosians are infected with the Coronavirus. Do they think it's everyone that the virus will kill? No; Most people will remain asymptomatic and continue living and spreading it. By the time the whole fresh air in Lagos gets contaminated with the virus, maybe they will be running their scam govt from under their bed at home. So they and their families are not safe too. We are all in it together. Na where God pass dem be that.

They are obviously testing selectively. Na the way for govt hospital be that. Know Me Know You. Those that know insiders or have big cash to settle, will be attended to on time, and go in through back door but the general public that don't know anyone will be made to queue endlessly and have to jump from one bureaucratic hurdle to the next, till many will die waiting, many will leave in frustration resigned to their fate, and the few that can afford it will be pushed to the private clinics that the corrupt govt officials own themselves or have profits-sharing formula with.

You cannot afford palliative..
You cannot afford test kits..
You cannot afford isolation centers..
You cannot even afford to lockdown..

What can you then afford, what is your benefit as a Government?

Estimate from an Average private hospital:
3 essential covid test - N150,000
Bed space at 10k/day for 14 days - N140,000
Medicine and consultation for the period - N100,000
Total = N390,000..

Minimum wage = 30k * 12 = N360,000.

You would have just said, "Go and die"..

That's just the interpretation in one short sentence. Upon all the billions they got from int'l countries, the billions they got from companies here and other philanthropists, they want people to pay 50k for test, for just 1 test oh. And during the course of treatment, there will be more tests, a Coronavirus patient can't do only 1 test. Patient will do at least 2. Maybe later they will soon start asking for money for treatment and quarantine bed space too. Let me do the breakdown:

Let's say 1,000,000 get infected, and 600,000 are pushed to do 50k tests
600K * 50K = 30,000,000,000 (30 BILLION NAIRA)

Can you see why they are so eager to open up everywhere now? And why they don't care about enforcing social distancing, face masks and all those preventive measurements? They have left people to be doing whatever they like and almost everything has gone back to normal as it was as if when their was no Coronavirus. They intentionally let the virus get in. Then when the virus was little spread, they locked everywhere to perfect their scam operation, then now opened every where when the cases are rising astronomically. Can you see that's it almost as if this thing is an ORGANIZED SCAM? I swear Hushpuppi and Woodberry and co yahoo boys, dem be learner for wia 9ja govt dey. They will be praying the West doesn't develop a cure on time. And hoping more than 100m Nigerians get infected. A new business is in town. Boko Haram business will be a child's play to the money they will make from Coronavirus. The SCAMDEMIC continues

People have been seeing our heartless government and they obviously did nothing.

I had a thread about why Nigerians can't speak up with one voice against bad leadership, it never made it to trending topics talk less of front page.

Here is the thread.

They have squandad the whole donations, and covid loans, now covid19 just started for real, no isolation centers, isolation centers are getting filled up... And they are now pushing us to private labs, soon they will push everyone to private hospital which typically means you are on ur own.

We are about to smell the real deal on covid, many people out there don't even know shit is getting worst... I pray we survive this

My State's radio station is still asking people to stay at home even after three months of this plandemic. But they know nobody is staying at home. The whole scam is becoming stale already. Why do they continue to repeat nonsense all the time?

Mediocrity permiates nooks and crannies of politics and civil service in Nigeria. The thing is too irritating to say the least.

Scamdemic!

The way we are handling this issue gives rise to conspiracy theories, we read about Senegal and their low cost testing methods that is working, why not adopt that? Maybe the costlier the better, what do I know?

From what I observed, Government officials seems to be testing and retesting themselves and their households, why the number of tested patients keep rising, the masses keep shouting scamdemic because non of their household has been tested or witness anyone within their neighborhood been tested..
