Egypt is the most powerful country in Africa according to the 2020 Best Countries Rankings

- South Africa, Kenya, and Ghana are in the second, third and fourth positions

- While Nigeria did not make the list, Morroco took the fifth position on the ranking

The 2020 Best Countries Rankings rated five African nations as the continent’s most powerful countries.

It should be noted that the countries are chosen based on factors that cover their respect for human rights, their GDPs, ease of doing business, among other attributes.

On the list, Egypt ranked first in the African category but is number 36 on the world category. South Africa comes second and rated 39th among world countries.

Below is, therefore, a list of the top 5 African countries:

1. Egypt

2. South Africa

3. Kenya

4. Ghana

5. Morocco

Meanwhile, Legit.ng earlier reported that Mauritius and Tunisia ranked first and second with a 100% electricity supply. Egypt, Algeria, Morocco, and Seychelles ranked 99.8%, 99.1%, and 99% respectively.

No country on the list has below 80% electricity access as South Africa and Ghana, nations on ninth and 10th positions, have 84.3% and 84.2% power access rates.

Recall that the Moroccan government went ahead to use green technology to proffer a solution to one of its citizens' challenges.

The government built a solar panel tree in Marrakesh so that people can easily charge their phones without having to worry about electricity.

Imagine a place where you can plug in your device away from home, without the fear of running out of power. This is really inventive.

Not surprised! Nigeria is a failed country that's lacking even the most basic amenities. A country where money is eaten, swallowed snakes, dogs, cats; fire consumed billions of Naira at the Ministry of Finance. A country led by corrupt leaders. A shameless country where nothing works.

This will hold them accountable and encourage transparency in our government

Respect for human rights?! And you are looking for Nigeria on the list! Keep looking oo. That is the only thing the other African countries apart from Egypt does better than Nigeria.
Ease of doing business is better in South Africa too.
