Three men were in the middle of an ocean, on a ship, in the midst of a turbulent storm, all because of one reason, Gold.
One of them is a Policeman, an early father, whose wife was pregnant. He should have been in the warmth of his home, with his beloved wife engulfed in his arms, but No. He was in the middle of an Ocean, making sure that all the golds were drowned.

The other two had a common goal. One was a Policeman, and was also a friend and a partner to the Policeman, until when he was captured and held held hostage by the leader of a gold smuggling gang, during one of their usual quest to hunt down the gold smugglers.
As he laid, hunged and tortured, the leader of the group threw a gold at him and the rest was history; He betrayed his friend, became a gold seeker too, just in a split of seconds.

The last of the three, was the leader, the criminal. He had lost his brothers, just in a bid to hunt for gold. Yet, his heart was still bent on holding those sparkling bricks within his grasp.

These three, were all in the middle of an Ocean, in a cold and stormy night, but only one had a different intention, the Policeman.
Before the storm came, his wife had asked him
“A storm is coming, and you still want to stay in the sea, to hunt down those criminals, is it worth risking your life?”

She had taught it was just about apprehending his friend who betrayed him, or getting the greedy hands of the gang leader within curfs.
He looked at her, sternly, and said,
“It’s not about the smuggler, or the betrayer, it’s about those golds. As long as they’re out there, man will fight and kill to own them. It has to be drowned in the depths of the sea, where no one will find it.”

The golds were initially seized by the Government, during the successful operation of the Police, led by this particular Policeman. They were kept within a box, in a ship, guarded by security men. But when the storms came, the police men fled, a perfect timing for those who intend to steal.
All except two police men stayed on the sea. One, to drown them all, and the other, to help the criminal take them all.

The criminal and his new found allegiance fought hard and long, trying to stop the Policeman who was busy casting the golds into the ocean.
The storms raging hard, threatening to take the life of anyone who would dare to stand against it. At some point, the Criminal left the fight, leaving a dagger in the hands of his accomplice, with an instruction “Kill Him!”
He meant to say, “Kill your friend, your partner, the one who once cracked cases with you. Kill Him, so we can both take this golds.”

He left the fight, swimming against the tides, taking up the fallen golds from the ocean’s bed.
As he left, the storm rose high, casting a heavy weight upon his accomplice. But he was warned. The one whom he betrayed warned him, he saw the storms coming down, and screamed hard “watch out!”
But his friend whose eyes gold blinded, wouldn’t take heed.
He was running towards grabing a piece of gold, when the storms fell upon him heavily, basking his head against a pole.
He died, but in his hands was a brick of gold he held tightly, but couldn’t spend.

The criminal on the other hand, his leader I mean. Succeeded in putting all the golds in a fisherman’s net.
The net, so heavy, was too hard to drag into the ship. He swam hard, pulling and pulling, the storms, still raging hard. Yet, he wouldn’t let the golds go. As he pulled, his god, the god of the sea he wore as necklace around his neck, broke free from his neck. He never went after it, instead, he held tightly, the net filled with golds, pulling and pulling, until his eyes turned red, his lungs gave up, running out of breath.
Finally, he let go, but it was not until life left him. He sank into the depths of the ocean, with golds lying beside his lifeless body.

Three men defied all odds, dared a great storm, stayed in the middle of an ocean, for the sake of Gold.
Only one survived, the one whose heart was not in golds.
The other two, died, with golds adorning their lifeless body.

Like the other two, I’ve held onto addictions that’s killing, yet I didn’t let go.

Smoking habits that slowly steals life from the smoker, yet they wouldn’t let go.
Pornographic Images and Videos, masturbating and sex life, that gradually engulfs our being, gulping our purpose, ambitions, and our Love for God. Yet, we won’t let go!

Like the other two, we’ve forsaken God, the maker of Golds, to pursue golds. Holding onto Mammon, so tightly, that even when it hurts us, we still wouldn’t let go.

The other two were not perfect, but I count myself not as the Perfect Policeman whose heart is not in Golds.
I’m just like the other two, an Over-decorated sinner, whose body, though not lifeless, is adorned with things that kills, yet I failed to let Go.

From the other two, I’m learning to Let Go!
I know I’ve been in the streets eating from the filth of swines, I know I may not be seen as a son, may not have the Glory that once was tied to my being, because I had betrayed a Father and a Friend, to pursue golds, but if only He(God) will accept me back, even as a Servant. I would rather have my lifeless body, though poor, adorned with sincerity, honesty and sanity, than to have my lifeless body adorned with Golds that stole my life, when I refused to Let Go!
