Names in African culture are full of meaning but there are some names that sounds very funny when speakers of another language hear it for the first time. These names are full of meaning in the bearer's language but because the hearer does not understand the bearer's language. The hearer will be dazed and amazed hearing those names for the first time.

My number one is 'Olaniyi', a Yoruba name, in Igbo it means one who is wasted.
Number two is 'Olanike' a yoruba name, in Igbo it means one who goes quickly, negatively means one who can die quickly.
A Yoruba friend shared how he nearly lost a beautiful girl when he went for NYSC because of his name.
Imagine some that want to marry you daughter or your sister bearing Olanike Olaniyi....church don scatter be that o...lol.

Its not about bashing, its just fun. U can mention Igbo names or Huasa name. This is the fun of being in a multilingual country if over 500 languages. Its a special experience for us. A monolingual country can't open this type of discussion. So bro remove tribal sentiment out of this. We are raising.
