COVID-19 Patient Gives Birth In Ogun by Naijalover2(m): 8:09am On Jul 09, 2020
A 28-year-old coronavirus patient has given birth to a baby girl at the maternity unit of the Ogun State Hospital, Ijaye, Abeokuta.

The State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Tomi Coker, disclosed this on Wednesday during an interview with newsmen in Abeokuta.

Coker said the mother gave birth on Tuesday and is doing fine at the hospital’s isolation ward. She applauded the frontline health workers for the successful delivery of the baby.

“A team of our Obstetrics and Gynecologists, Pediatricians, and Nurse Anesthetists delivered the woman with COVID-19 of a 3.1kg baby girl.

“The baby was delivered via normal birth on Tuesday, July 7, 2020.

“The mother and baby are doing well.

“Before the delivery, the mother had visited for regular ante-natal on 18th June, 2020; she showed COVID-19 symptoms and was tested; her result came back positive.

“She was monitored up to the expected delivery date and delivered of the baby girl. “Sample of the baby has been sent for COVID-19 screening”, Coker said.

The Permanent Secretary, Hospitals Management Board (HMB), Dr. Nafiu Aigoro admonished the public not to entertain fear, as necessary precautions had been taken and all concerned premises decontaminated.

habaa....congrata shaa....not a good time and also not a good place to birth a baby....still dnt kno d angel dt is incharge of allocating babies to countries...when i get to the afterlife, i would find and ask him Y he choosed naija for a cool gee like me...

But on a more serious note, giving birth with Covid 19,makes the mother more vulnerable.

May God preserve the baby and the mother...May Covid 19 not separate them forever.

Thank God... Please people this pandemic is real , a doctor friend of mine, who is working in federal teaching hospital and my younger sister who is also a medical doctor have all confirmed that this virus is real with pictorial evidence, which they secretly recorded, please keep safe and do whatever you have to do to avoid this virus.. Yes the government officials might be using it to loot but again they don't have to use this pandemic to steal because they have been looting before covid19 came around.. Think... Take responsibility
