Nollywood the so called second largest movie industry in the world, but popular for churning out home videos of low quality should take up the challenge of competing with the best in the world by participating in international film festivals.

The following call for entries is from the Tulsa International Film Festival.

The event will be held September 22-25, 2011.

The Tulsa International Film Festival is a multi-genre festival with additional sub-divisions including Emerging Filmmaker (Students), Nightmare Division, Women Behind the Camera and Indigenous Cinema. Over $20,000 in cash and prizes will be awarded to the winners.

Final entry deadline for all films and screenplays will be July 18th, 2011. The festival will offer an early bird discount until February 14th, 2011.

The Tulsa International Film Festival is an annual festival that spans four days and anticipates thousands of audience members from around the world. Films will be screened at various locations in Downtown Tulsa. Venues include historic Mayo Hotel, the brand new TCC Center for Creativity and the recently renamed Hyatt Regency (Crowne Plaza). There will be film screenings, parties, VIP events, filmmaker meet and greets, coffees, panels, workshops, special guests to meet at the festival and much more that we know will make this a year to remember.

Happy Submitting!.

For more film festivals open to movie makers, see the Film Festivals data base on http://www.supplemagazine.org/film-festivals-and-events-worldwide.

Go out and rock the film world if you know you can do it.

I wish you all the best.
