They are learning from Nigeria their big brother. The map of Africa when inverted looks like a gun, no wonder we are used to shooting ourselves to penury.

Equatorial Guinea : 30,000km2 / Population : 1.3 million / Yearly Oil Revenue : $5 Billion dollars

Equatorial Guinea gained independence from Spain in 1968. President Teodoro Obiang, currently Africa’s longest-serving leader, seized power in a 1979 coup and won reelection to another seven-year term in 2016 with 93 percent of the vote. The opposition protested the result as fraudulent. They were all rounded up and executed.
Equatorial Guinea was once one of Africa’s fastest-growing economies and sub-Saharan Africa’s third-largest oil producer, but today it's underdeveloped because of corruption, falling oil revenues, and lack of diversification.

Very sad indeed.

I think they should practice Social Democracy (70 percent socialism/30 percent capitalism), just demolish everything and build mass housing and house the people for free . Just one or two cities where everyone can live. The city china built at Angola cost $3 billion dollars , took 2 years to complete ,with capacity of at least 800,000 residents . Nigeria and other African countries should emulate that method . You do not need the tallest skyscrapers to build an organized and lawful society.

AAinEqGuinea What do you think?

Have you ever asked yourself, what China aims to gain with these "free" gifts.
The Chinese infiltration into Africa should never be encouraged.

And By the Way. Nigerians do not need these housing. What we need urgently and speedily are Electricity ( up to 150,000MW) which can be achieved through Hydropower and Solar power in the South and North respectively.

Transportation (major cargo railways connecting PH to Onitsha, Opening of Onne Port in Portharcourt, quality road connecting Enugu to Aba and Onitsha, Railway from Lagos to Ibadan, quality road from Lagos ports to big markets such as tradefair, computer village, Alaba, Ladipo etc. Roads from Lagos to Sagamu)

Security against Herdsmen so our people can go back to farms

With this, Nigeria will experience rapid industrialization never seen before

But why are African leaders very greedy and selfish and power hungry . Someone should please carry out an investigation on this. From Uganda to Zimbabwe to Malawi to Mali to Cameroon to Angola and now this.

I'm not asking you to ask China to build it . It does not have to be built by China, use indigenous architects, surveyors, engineers and other professional volunteers, It's not rocket science to build an organized society. The city was built with power plant,,water supply, malls or plaza, hospital ,schools, parks etc. and it all amounts to $3 Billion dollars.
As for seaport and all of that it's pointless thinking about that now , I've already explained that previously. deal with the basics first. The Nigerian government seems to be wasting money on stupid things that don't matter . What do you need seaport for right now? what do you need conference center or airline for right now? SMH Very foolish people ! Even if you do all of the above you mentioned , that won't stop Nigeria from being underdeveloped.
Nigeria is a lawless and disorganized society and I think almost everything needs to be demolished and rebuilt from scratch.
You guys are talking about Nigeria like it's Japan or US and keep talking about industrialization, capitalism , and supporting population boom but you fail to reason that Africa's situation is different and needs a different approach. The world market is already saturated .Nigeria has nothing to offer and should be self sufficient first . My method is the most practical and realistic . Nigeria and Africa will never develop without this social democratic method . You guys can keep fantasizing about Nigeria being developed world power with tallest skyscrapers but that will never happen and it will keep being a third world shithole. Only my method would work for Nigeria and Africa.

Firstly, I Honestly don't see any reason why Nigeria should embark on a housing scheme. Let me point you to what happened in South Africa. The SA govt built houses for the people which it called RDP to take away poor south Africans from their slums, but what happened?, the people who were given free houses to live in started renting thier houses, while they lived in their shacks. This was because they were unemployed and really needed a source of income. This is what will happen if the same thing is replicated here in Nigeria. Don't put the cart before the horse, employment first before housing scheme. Also, In Nigeria, we lack maintenance culture and building houses for the poor will only amount to lots to dilapidated structures in the very near future

Unemployment is the biggest problem in Nigeria. Unemployed leads to alot of societal degradation such as kidnapping, banditry, armed robbery, thuggery and Internet fraud. Fighting unemployment will greatly reduce the problem and the only way to fight unemployment is by industrialization. Industrialization will be achieved if electricity, good road network and security is met. With this, doing business in Nigeria will be easy which will attract local and foreign investment into the country.
Do you currently how frustrating and difficult it is to do Business in Nigeria. I know a business man in Aba who spends a whopping 83k monthly only on electricity to power his business. Do you know how expensive and risky it is to transport good in Nigeria as a result of bad roads and armed robbers on the road.

The basics which are Electricity, Transportation and Security needs to be met first. If they are met, Businesses will thrive, unemployment will greatly reduce and Investors will be willing to invest in Nigeria.
Building parks, schools( which will churn out unemployed graduates) and malls are TOTALLY UNNECESSARY FOR NOW!

The seaport will be necessary to decongest Lagos as Lagos is currently overpopulated. It will also reduce the cost of exporting, because now, if someone in say, Onitsha wants to export, he must transport his goods to Lagos first which is very expensive and risky. Building a seaport in Portharcourt will greatly reduce the cost of imports and exports

I agree with you, Conference centres and skyscrapers are of no use to Nigeria I have never said the govt should build any.

You are saying Nigeria does not have a trying to offer the world, like really?
Nigeria has hundreds of square kilometres of farmable land. Southern Nigeria can grow Crops such as Maize, Rice, Cassava, Cocoa, Oil Palm etc while Northern Nigeria can raise livestock which when exported will earn us revenue. Before you say the revenue realized will be too small, remember that Ethiopia, the second fastest growing economy in the world exports crops and livestock
Also, Northern Nigeria has a lot of sun light. Millions of solar panels can be installed there which will produce so much Power that we can export to other African countries. The same things applies to Southern Nigeria, were massive dams can be built to produce energy which will be exported
Other companies such as Innoson and Proforce will expand massively and serve the demand for affordable cars in Africa

All Nigeria needs is Electricity, Transportation and Security!

Based on the fact that Nigeria is a poor country and it cost 100s of billions to produce that amount of electricity you mentioned ,I suggest do it in phases. There'll never be a time when all of Nigeria will have stable electrify at once. I've already mentioned that security and stable electricity are the two most important. I believe in self sufficiency first before thinking of exporting . Listen , I've already seen photos and i personally think everything needs to be demolished and rebuilt from scratch and it's hard to change my mind about that .
All slums and houses will be demolished and new city built with urban planning. there'll be no slum to go back to and rent anything and there'll be ID database to keep tab of activities .
Calabar will have a deep seaport and a brand new international airport within 10 years it's all on plan . Calabar deep seaport will be deepest in Africa at 20 m. The current deepest is Lome port at 16.60 meters. I really don't care about those other areas like port harcourt you mentioned i'm not familiar with those places and don't care. the only other cit i really like is Onitsha. I'm American but my dad is Efik Calabar that's why it's the only area i'm familiar and care about .
Everyone has different opinion, I believe my method of social democracy is the best for Calabar & Cross river, everyone should do their own thing .

I agree wholly with you, Nigeria is very unplanned. Our governors don't even care, they only care about building flyovers and roundabouts which they will use during campaign for re-election. It's sad but you have to understand that is a secondary issue. The salient issue is that of electricity and good road network, and we should channel all our resources and man power into it. There won't be any point building tall residential houses when we don't have stable power and good roads. Perhaps when we have achieved stable electricity and good roads then other cities can be built which will be planned structurally. We still have alot of unused landmass in Nigeria especially in states like Taraba, Benue, Kogi and Ebonyi. We can't afford to focus on unimportant things now.

I believe a seaport in Portharcourt will be more economically viable as a because of the already existing market in the city. Anyway, we can't have too much good things, so a seaport in Calabar will also be important for the country

I believe it pointless to pave existing colonial roads instead of building new ones based on new urban planning . Port harcourt is not by the sea so how can it have seaport ? the seaport you mentioned "Onne" is at the coastal country area and it's a shallow river at just 6 meters just like the current 7 meters Calabar seaport.
Maybe you are from the port harcourt and that's why you think it will be more viable there , well that'why all ethnicity should be autonomous states or provinces and do their own thing because my investments and believe is in Calabar and Cross river only.
My method is the best method for Calabar and Cross river and I suggest you implement your own method where you're from. My ideology is social democracy. I'm a civil engineer and a in my final year of urban and regional planning . The Calabar & Cross river rail will be a corporate owned. there are numerous plans for large residential and industrial developments at Calabar according to master plan. My advocacy is simply for the government to intervene in terms of housing for the poor and disabled.
Like I said , all states or ethnicity should simply do their own thing .
My Bad, I meant the Onne Port. I all think the South South states who can build seaports should do so as it will improve imports and exports. I'm also for semi-autonomous states as it will allow each state develop at their own pace
How do you plan to actualise your plans for your state though?
