Prof. Alex Akpa (Director General) has revealed that the National Biotechnology Development Agency (NABDA) is promoting the use of hydroponic technology in the cultivation of yam in Nigeria.

Good question. The tuber does not really need something to hold on to but a space to be big.
Have you notice that yam don't do well on hard soil?
