What Allahu Akbar Really Means?

'Allahu Akbar' is a phrase meaning 'Allah is greater'. The word 'Akbar' could mean 'bigger', or 'greater', or 'larger' than something. Allah is greater than his three daughters, Al-Lat, Al-Uzza, and Manat. According to the Quran verses 23:14 and 37:125, Allah is the "Best of creators" (best among creators/gods in Islam).

Narrated Abu Raja Al-Utaridi:
We used to worship stones, and when we found a better stone than the first one, we would throw the first one and take the latter, but if we could not get a stone then we would collect some earth (i.e. soil) and then bring a sheep and milk that sheep over it, and perform the Tawaf around it. "Allahu Akbar is an Arabic phrase meaning God is greater"

The phrase means "Allah is greater". A specific god - namely "Allah". This god was already in existence in the birthplace of Mohamed, and wss elevated to the supreme god above all the other gods in Mecca, (or Petra which was probably Mohamed's birthplace, as per the current evidence).
